Rebrand. Rejuvenate. Revamp. Revitalise. Re-energise. Replace. Looks like words taken from a dictionary! Well, “re-” all you want. Why not just reMIC the whole of MIC? Close shop and try something else for a living.  Or quite en-bloc and call for early elections. How about setting retirement age at 72 and limiting term of office-bearers? Oh..one more thing – ensure all members are from Tamil school and their children go to Tamil school, or drop the “champion rights of Tamil school” tag.

As usual, Samy plans to be on top of things have the limelight all to himself. The article says:

Samy Vellu aims to do this when he unveils several strategies at the MIC workshop

But he says:

It will enable divisional leaders to formulate strategies

So, how is going to strategise? Expect one person to talk, and the rest to make up the numbers.
The NST article below was also repeated nearly word for word in MK’s version.

KUALA LUMPUR, Sat:

Reeling from a devastating defeat in the recent general elections, the MIC is set to undergo a rebranding through rejuvenation. Party president Datuk Seri S. Samy Vellu aims to do this when he unveils several strategies at the MIC workshop for divisional leaders here tomorrow.

The one-day workshop, dubbed “Rebranding the MIC”, would be attended by 150 divisional leaders to provide an opportunity for grassroot leaders to share their concerns in the post-general election context. “It will enable divisional leaders to formulate strategies in strengthening the party and winning back Indian support for the party,” Samy Vellu said in a statement today.

The workshop will also see strategies on how the party would operate in opposition-led states namely Kedah, Penang, Perak and Selangor, and how it would position itself with the Barisan Nasional, as the voice of the Indian community.
At the recently-concluded general election, MIC only won three of nine parliamentary seats it contested. Among the casualties were Samy Vellu, party deputy president, Datuk G. Palanivel, vice-president Datuk S. Sothinathan, Wanita chief Datuk Paduka Komala Krishnamoorthy and Youth head S. A. Vigneswaran. Among those who managed to withstand the March 8 ‘political tsunami’ were MIC secretary-general Datuk Dr S. Subramaniam, who is also Human Resources Minister, information chief Datuk M. Saravanan who is Federal Territories deputy minister, and S. K. Devamany, deputy minister in the Prime Minister’s Department.

“We will analyse the performance of branches, divisions and state machineries. This is most critical for party effectiveness in the political arena,” said Samy Vellu. – BERNAMA

whichever “Re-” it is it’s not going to work as long as all the old thugs still holding posts . Try reading below letter written by a writer whom wrote on behalf of all ‘thinking’ Indians .

For all the ‘dunt care’ mic members it’s a slap in their faces . 500,000 of members could not do what 5 heroes had done to the community within 2months ! Isnt that a shame ! The party should be just dissolved and members pls go back home and take care of your family …….
