Kota Bahru will soon become Kabul Bahru!

While cosmetics and personal care are becoming a multbillion dollar industry, those folks at Kota Bahru Municipal Council are planning to cause a small dent in sales for areas in Kota Bahru. The council had issued a circular banning female muslim women working in business premises from wearing “thick make-up, bright coloured lipstick and high-heeled shoes which made a tapping sound. Those who insisted on wearing high-heeled shoes should choose those with rubber soles“.

It was issued to “prevent incidents like rape and illicit sex as well as to safeguard the morals and dignity of Muslim women in Kelantan“.

This is in addition to existing directive – “wearing of scarves (tudung?), which should cover the chest and not be of transparent material, blouses with long sleeves, which were long and loose, as well as socks”.

My questions: Where is the research or study that was undertaken in Kabul Bahru are that proves use of lipstick and tapping-sound-making high heels causes incidents like rape and illicit sex? Can the rakyat get a copy of the study?

Let’s see if Anwar and Lim Kit Siang has anything to say on this. Also it would be interesting what Mr Big Mouth..oops Lim Guan Eng says about it….

I only can say. ENA KODUMAI SAAR ITHU!

ENA KODUMAI SAAR ITHU! – your favourite phrase. anyway, covering from top to bottom is not going prevent rape cases from taking place bcoz rapist dont choose his victim.

According to the police Kelantan has the dubious reputation of having the highest % of rapes per capita in the country. Sexual crimes such as sodomy and incest too seem to be very high there. This shows that not only the Islamic laws and regulations have failed to “uplift” the morality but in fact having an opposite effect.

It is well known that many Kelantanese frequent the Thai border towns in search of “sinful entertainments and activities” banned in the state.

If this new regulation goes unchallenged, I am very sure that there will be more such controls will be imposed. Already PAS is talking about implementing such policies in Perak and Kedah.

I was in Langkawi not to long ago and I heard and saw first-hand the impact of the PAS government. The hotel staff have changed their uniforms to a more “modest” one (skirt to pants) and from uncovered to “tudung”. The selling of liquor was more discreet and even the consumption in the open was discouraged.

I was told of the raids by the authorities on the pubs and other entertaintment places. It seems that the PAS govt intend to ban duty-free liquor there eventually. Langkawi will seeon be the model Islamic Paradise Island with no alcohol, pubs, entertaintment or other non halal activities.

For the Indians in Kedah, they can forget about Makkal Sakthi and adopt the newer AS – Allah Sakthi.

wht MS has to do with Islamic law ? Did thy ask to implement Hindu law ?

      • Killer says:

MS and Hudud Law ? The relationship is simple. I think it is a known fact that Kedah was one of the stronghold of HINDRAF during the GE to the extent that some goondas even attempted to attack SV. They kicked MIC out and in return what did they gain ? Islamic governance and perhaps even Hudud….so please tell me what did MS/HINDRAF achieved in Kedah ?

    • Killi Valavan says:

to me it seems Killer go down to Langkawi for sinful activities ……
why are you looking a woman if they are wearing skirt or pant ??

  4. killer get the fact…
    Huhud law only for Muslims…
you writing without knowing what is huhud law…
i never thought Killer is so lack of knowledge before writing…
PAS never told they will implement huhud laws on non-muslims

    Killer ,
well the plan was to kick out mic totally . So for wht happenned in kedah is not a surprise . Expected even before March8 . Wht surprised us is the majority votes gained by Xavier .
Hudud or not is not the matter . I still see Indian ladies there wearing saree and not forced to wear tudung . So wht’s your point of argument ?

You are way too narrown minded my dear Killer . Hindraf/MS never said have to this and tht for one particular State . Thy are talking about constitution rights has a whole . In other works the election struggle for Indians will not be over till see a change in federal . So hold your breath , you havent see that to come.

btw , i think you owe a responce to Killi . It makes sense . Why should we bother if a Malay lady wear tudung/skirt/pant ???

    • Killer says:

      Well VJ,

Such short-sighted thinking is exactly the one going to bring disasater to the community. You wanted to kill MIC but in the end ended up killing the Indians as a whole. Forget about change at Federal level, HINDRAF can’t even get anything done at state level with PR in power. If MIC was termed as begger previously, now HINDRAF can be termed as leper that no body even want to see in the PR ruled states.

As for Killi, pls read again his post. His comments are personal in nature. In any case I am not talking about Malays wearing skirt/pants but the creeping Islamisation that is also affecting non Muslims. Do you think non Muslims will be spared in Kedah ? Just look at Kelantan. At least in Kelantan the non Muslims are very small.

I would love to see HINDRAF taking the street when such regulations are imposed on Indians….Dare to take the challenge ?

    borak…

Perhaps you shld check before you post…there is nothing in the Hudud that says it is applicable to only Muslims. Islam does not restrict itself to moral aspects but every aspect of human life and can be used for both Muslims and non Muslims. It is up to the administration to exempt the non Muslims if they want to.

In case of Langkawi, all Kedahan and tourists are affected by these changes….I did not say Kedah will implement Hudud. But they have started implementing Islamic regulations and it would be no surprise if they decide to go for Hudud as Kedah is considered as one of the state in the Malay belt.
