However, what if the commercial interests of the projects start to overrule Thaipusam celebrations in the future? Having a cultural heritage center near a religious place is fine, but building a recreation and tourism center needs careful planning so as to not blemish or insult the religious place. One would expect people going into religious places to be dress appropriately. As it is, even some of the Indian youths have terrible sense of dressing at Thaipusam. The second time was in Segamat, at a restaurant. He was with some people having lunch. I can’t recall the third time I’ve seen him, i think it was at some temple or religious function.
Personally, as the call is being made to drop veterans from MIC, I think he should not contest in coming elections. It will be hard for SV to drop veterans and then take in Subra.
Subra tight-lipped about comeback
KUALA LUMPUR: Former MIC deputy president Datuk S. Subramaniam’s supporters are on the offensive for their leader’s political comeback. A source from Subramaniam’s inner circle claimed that their leader had met Barisan Nasional’s top leadership on the possibility of contesting a seat. Gobind: It’s time for me to contest
JOHOR BARU: DAP national legal bureau secretary Gobind Singh Deo is undecided on whether to contest a state or parliamentary seat in Johor. But the son of DAP chairman Karpal Singh is certain about one thing – that it is time for him to contest on the party’s ticket.
Given a choice, Gobind Singh, 34, said that he preferred to vie for a parliamentary seat. “But if the (DAP) leadership wants me to stand for a state seat, I will,” he said.
He said his interest in contesting was not due to pressure or coaxing from his famous father, adding that it was his own decision.
