In fact this was confirmed by Malaysiakini’s analysis of the PP by-election..
I found one Malaysiakini report (http://malaysiakini.com/news/88726) on PP by-election analysis. It shows 62% of Malays and 78% of non-Malays voted for Anwar. This is an increase of 3% and 1% respectively compared to the general elections in March. No breakdown on races (Indian, Chinese, etc). Can you provide the link that says Indians voted for BN?
Killer , MP’s source and mine shows similarity that is 70-78% non malays voted PKR . Show us whr is your source ? The whole nation waiting for your reply !! come on man…….
While it is true that this was not made clear, perhaps you guys had not been reading the news carefully. The support of Malays had increased by 3% and non-Malays 1% based on Mkini’s analysis. But Mkini also reported in its reports that the actually level of Chinese support had increased for Anwar in the by-election. As such, it only means that there is a big swing of Indian votes to BN to compensate the Chinese swing to DSAI.
Based on MIC estimation, about 80% the Indian votes voted for BN. While the Chinese % for PKR was around 80 – 85%.
I know this is rather hard for HINDRAF to swallow in the view of the recent in-fightings and problems. I can assure you that things going to get even worse for HINDRAF.
Indian community should have more poeple like you, supporting Samy, taking Tamil school land on behaft of MIC and making it personal assests. Pls refer to Malaysia Today for the relevent documnets about the school land under the samy’s Name.

Well, I don’t know the details but I wouldn’t be very quick to believe on what Xavier or other PR guys are saying. If Selangor exco thinks MIC took the land illegally, please go ahead and take it back or sue them.

Whether people supporting MIC or not will be made known in elections and NOT in some blogs or websites. This is akin M’kini’s voxpopuli, doing a poll among the converted just to “syiok sendiri”.
In any case, I stand by my view that the Indian support for HINDRAF has eroded significantly and going down by day as the PP by-election has shown. I am sure that most of the PR indian ADUNs and MPs will lose in the GE (if they did not defect to BN by then that is).
Only die hard PR supporters are keepng HINDRAF alive, just as a front to solicit votes from the community.
Gotta agree with Killer here. Basically, those who access Internet are able to draw from various sources and are well-informed, so majority will choose opposition. We can barely see any survey results that supports ruling parties. It will be a skewed result, limited to those section of the population that surfs the Internet.
Probably those surveys by Merdeka Center will be more meaningful. Perhaps can suggest to them to survey the Indian community on support for Hindraf.
