Subra to go for number two post

Former MIC deputy president S Subramaniam (not the current HR Minister) is going for number two post in MIC, the deputy president post. So says Samy.

That means, Palanivel no chance lah.

Also, Samy says that he heard Sothinathan may also go for the post:

Former MIC deputy president Datuk S. Subramaniam has confirmed his intention to contest the party’s number two position, MIC president Datuk Seri S. Samy Vellu said today.

“Datuk Subra wants to contest. He told me that,” he said.

He said he had also come to know that vice-president Datuk S. Sothinathan, dubbed as his “chosen one”, will also be going for the number two position.

He clarified that he had not heard it from Sothinathan himself.

Samy Vellu said some quarters also wanted Human Resources Minister and party secretary-general, Datuk Dr S. Subramaniam, to go for the post.

He did not rule out the possibility of “outsiders’ also deciding to join the fray but declined to elaborate.

He also denied that caste would be a determining factor in who will be the next deputy president.

“We have never practised it,” he added.

Sir,

With such intensity you have all along each paragraph and pages on your blog here, would be good to see a change in what you have to say.

Could you stop talking about this Political issues and gives us your thought on how our local Indian could take the next step and improve our way of living in terms of shaping our future as well as our next generation?

Every “Malaysian Indian Blog” I logged in today is hot about “Who’s Contesting,” “Who’s Powerful,” “Who’s Next In Power,” “Who Swindled Money,” “Which Party Rocks”…etc.

Hi,

i believe, deep inside, everyone of us know how to improve – to take the next step, so to speak. A drunkard knows he should stop drinking. A thief knows he shouldn’t steal. A student knows he should study well. So on so forth. Once the person collects enough courage to actually take that step, then he/she will start to seek information. And there are many sites in the Internet that can help.

Politics is an integral part of life. Those who live in a community, be it as small as a family to big as a nation, politics is important. It is the apex of good governance, role model for community, plus the 64 values we learn in school for Moral Education. It shapes administration and management of country. So a person who loves his family, his country and himself (or her), is responsible to ensure good politics take place. One cannot run away from politics. Every phase of one’s life is affected by politics, directly or indirectly. The policies, rules and regulations, laws, taxation, security, employment, education, you name it, politics has a major role in it.

For your info, my blog is not politics-only blog. Its categorised as socio-political, with a minor focus on personal topics like movies and places I visit. You can see it in the categories and tags list. Even now, I’m running a special edition for SPM/STPM leavers. No politics there, right?

Finally, why are many Malaysian Indian blogs talk about politics. Well, this has been discussed before. I reduce it to two words – HINDRAF and GE 2008. Majority of the blogs were born between August 2007 and April 2008. In a sense, its an awakening of the Malaysian Indian community in the cyberworld. Give it some time, and the blogs will evolve into areas other than politics. You may already know that there are blog on photography, souvenirs, gardening, personal blogs, IT and gadgets, etc – run by Malaysian Indians.
