Goodbye Shabeery…maybe not

Well, I guess Information Minister Shabery Cheek will be handing in his resignation tomorrow. I saw first 20 minutes of the debate only, but gave me a good idea of how it went on. I personally don’t trust both the debaters, but from the point of debating and handling the questions, I think the more popular guy had the edge.

Later from 10.20 till 10.40 pm surfed the net for initial responses. Nothing appeared on Star, Malaysiakini or NST sites, but 7 blogs were returned in Google blog search. All mentioned the samething, which I rather not write in here. But i guess the post title above clears the air.

As for the papers, I was wondering how the papers will write it since many, many Malaysians would have seen the debate. No chance to lie or twist the article. Malaysiakini and NST were first to report at about 10.50pm. NST declared no winner, while Malaysiakini did not talk about the content of the debate.

Hmm..wait a minute, didn’t Shabery say he will leave his fate in the hands of the PM? Can see a lifeline there.

Oh , did u see guys see anwar was stressing on Malay peoples kemajuan only and Sabah Sarawakians? Guess he forgot us.

And ,no one can never win anwar in a debate 🙂

    • maya says:

  4. Aryaputra says:

Yup, maya is right. He did say that – (segelintir kaum china dan india).

    and

have to agree with maya on – “i think shabery didnt prepare well for the debate. he was way out of topic” too.

I wanted to see the debate between anwar and abdullah. 😀

  5. Peter says:

    – AI is a political veteran and a good speaker so was expected…
    – saw Shabeery trying hard to bring up past issues (when AI in cabinet) which shows he shaken …
    – you guys noticed AI stressed much about ‘rakyat’ susah while Shabeery is inclined towards preserving Petronas and global trend ….?
    – i’m sure PM/DPM will never come down for debate with him . Thy definately dun wanna spoil their ‘remaining’ name…

  7. Aryaputra says:

Just heard that AI was arrested, anyone?

  8. novinthen says:

Segelintir . Anthe oru varthaikaage naan Anwarke vote pandren. ( in my dreams )

with the huge publisity shabery by the debate he should be the favourite candidate for umno party election….fight with a giant and expose yourself to the nation…creative politics from shabery!!

  11. VJ says:

    Shabeery’s mistake :
    – talking too much about AI’s past faults , global trend and saving petronas.
u see , if a nelayan listens do u think he bothers about these ?? He/she bothers about his/her rice bowl .

    AI’s mistake :
    – mentioning only 50cent decrease . Still a reduction but he could have win many poors/lower income grp’s attention if shown concrete plan for further reduction (if practical)

Was in a lunch discussion with my chinese colleagues , they’re all in support for AI . Not becos he is the best but at least better than current leaders in umno.
You guys could google for chinese blogs and see for yourself .

One more interesting point people are talking about….. with so much of current issues (Najib,RPK,AI,petrol,IGP,ACA,AG,rally, roadblog….etc) the attention on badawi actually diverted . So the winner is none other than badawi !! (the loser of course lay ppl lar) He can continue yawning ….. not many got time to notice that now…. 🙂

Acutually I think Shabery trounced Anwar and DSAI gave up after 10 minutes.

I think DSAI was over-confident and didn’t prepare well and was also careless. SC caught him on the 50 sen reduction and DSAI didn’t have any answer at all. The same thing about subsidy. DSAI got his data wrong about 5 Billion.

There were so many points raised by SC that DSAI just couldn’t counter and kept talking about wastages and corruption. Perhaps he is right but that is not the issue on hand. The issue is how to reduce oil price without killing Petronas and run into a deficit.

Perhaps you guys should have stayed back and watched the analysis on the debate by Bernama’s panel of experts after the program. They panelists were spot on with their opinions.

The panelists had only one negative point about SC, that was his tactics of attacking Anwar personally. But I think this is justified as long as it is about his stance and policies and not personality, family or matters that has no relation to the debate topic.

SC was right to point out DSAI’s inconsistent stance and policies as well as old track record.

In my view Anwar not just lost but lost badly to a junior minister.

Why would a nelayan worry about petrol price when he gets subsidised fuel ?

As SC said, petrol is not exactly something a necessity (despite what many people say). So the govt rather spend the money on something more helpful like povetry eradication, hospitals and education.

    • VJ says:

dude , “petrol is not exactly something a necessity ..” it’s joke uh …

That will only be true if price hike on other consumables did not happen whenever petrol price rises .
So , it’s your biased view and so is SC’s .

      • Killer says:

        bro,

That’s why SC was talking about food security and other basic needs…perhaps you had your brain switched while SC spoke, may be that’s why you missed that ??

        • VJ says:

Yo , he talked but only talked ….. food and basic need prices already shot up …. (when is the last time you went out purchasing? 20yrs back ke…pity) if you are ruling thn ppl expect results not talking …..
see who switched off brain now ?

    • mmuurrllyy says:

      nice quote:
“petrol is not exactly something a necessity”

      lame joke..LOL

  14. Killer says:

    Hello bro

Can you name one country in the whole world where the basic need prices DIDNT go up ?

  15. VJ says:

arrrgg .. suppose to be a off day… end up tight with works and forced to blog…

not to surprise if AI is convicted….tht’s the game plan especially when he is coming very strong politically… but altantuya’s case different… saiful wil get all battallion support in his case … but the poor lady not going to come back to reveal the truth so the Devil roams freely out there …..

the rule is simple…..as long as u r with ruling side u are immune …. say if AI were to switch side thn you will see all the problems dissapprearing…

    • Killer says:

      VJ

Ever wondered why no one ever came forward to give evidence on the case of Altantunya ? All these idiots have is hearsay evidence via SD. Yet people like you choose to belief that without a shred of proof.

But in case of DSAI, even before you see the proof you have decided he is innocent…So where’s your logic ???

      • Killi Valavan says:

similarly you and umno had decided AI guilty even before the case begin…

it’s not about AI or RPK guilty or not for majority of civilized malaysians but how the ruling party could to stage dramas and as VJ said immune to law .

You said Bala pretended dunno malay and used Tamil ??? Do you know an idiot MP caught in Australia , for carrying millions with him , pretended dunno English ?? Ask that idiot to give you more points for arguments …… eventually that idiot will be a minister and rule us ….. ‘thalai elutha’…

  16. Killer says:

    Killi

I have the right to my own opinion as does UMNO. But that doesnt mean DSAI is guilty and that’s something for the court to decide. There is a police report lodged by a first person (the victim) and the police should and must investigate so to ensure justice to all, and not just Anwar.

However, in the case of Altantunya all we have is hearsay evidence from Bala (which he later retracted) and RPK. So if you want Najib to be investigated, don’t resort to stunts but provide evidence and make a police report. That RPK’ and Bala’s stories are so full of holes and illogical that I find them laughable. In case of RPK, he doesnt even know about C4 at all. Perhaps you might be aware that I have military and police background, so I do know what I am talking about.

As for Muhd Taib, well I don’t like him either but how he escaped is not my problem. If the Aussies are stupid enough to let him go, then there is nothing I can do.

BTW, do you know that just before the 1st SD, Bala suddenly because rich and can afford to buy properties and vehicles. Before that he was struggling financially. Just read the STAR for details….So I wonder how come ah ???

It would be very interesting what the police investigations will reveal…well I am sure that if Bala implicates DSAI you will claim that as another fabrication….keep living in your fantasy world…DSAI is finished politically so quit supporting this chameleon.
