I have to make a guess here. If the court insisted that the poor lady is to be detained at the rehabilitation center to be brainwashed, it will provoke more anger against those who supported the ruling. Imagine a person who did things contrary to the religion being given consultation to mend her ways and see the true path. It would have been a great comedy indeed! May 7th, 2008It was interesting to read the reports on March trade surplus. The Star projected a positive vibe, stating the surplus was higher if compared to corresponding month in 2007. However, MK put a negative note on the numbers, stating that the trade surplus is on the decline if compared to January and February 2008 values, and that imports grew 14.8% if compared to February. It did mention that exports grew 9.5% compared to February 2008, so that’s a bit of good news. » Read more: numbers talk
Raja Petra bail fund exceeds 25k in hours
May 7th, 2008Phew, it reached RM24K over within 6-7 hours. And it just needed RM5K to bail him out. He really got many supporters from all over the world. Even though just RM1 was requested per person, the comments on his website indicate some who donated larger sums.
RPK earlier refused bail and was sent to jail. Perhaps with the money collected, he will be willing to come out.
While the spotlight was on the royalty, there was less news on the other guy, Syed Akbar Ali who was charged under the same Act, but who posted bail.

Residential schools do produce generally better examination results, but some say it is due to dubious methods.
