The Home Minister may have denied accusations that proper medical care have been denied for Uthaya Kumar, but no one seems to believe him. Anyway, about 200++ people gathered to accompany Uthaya’s mother to hand over memorandum to persuade PM to allow for proper medical treatment for Uthaya. Even though the Star said the memo was handed over to PM, information via email says it was given to one of his private secretaries. cabinet approves permit renewal for temple related workers
April 15th, 2008Well, after a bit of drama and veiled threats and linking to Sikh community by Samy Vellu, the cabinet has kind of given some sort of agreement. Sounds long-winded right? It depends on what category of work is involved, and does not cover bringing new workers. And it needs further discussion before things can become clear. Now, MIC can use this opportunity to ask for allocation to train local people to be experts in the lacking areas. Sivanesan skips PTA meeting due to Ministry circular
April 15th, 2008From what I understand, the circular says only selected people can be called to officiate or launch the events. The state leaders can still visit as part of their jobs or as normal VIP. What Sivanesan is saying sounds like partially true only. If any school has health problem – like food poisoning, he would be expected to go there to investigate and get reports, not to officiate some event.
