Great! Yet another group is created. Not 10, not 50, but 128 organisations! I’m surprised that we have that many active organisations! If each one takes one Tamil school, that’s nearly 25% of the total schools. If minus fully-aided ones, that will be more than 1/3 of the balance partially-aided schools. Figuratively speaking of course. Basic education, in my opinion should be the burden of the state.
Why not make use of existing bodies? There’s Hindraf for starters 🙂 . We just read another group calling for Samy Vellu to be given place in the cabinet (that group of 30 NGOs consisted of Bell Club, some Karak group, and other NGO’s in Pahang).
Anyway, I like the idea of this group creating watchdogs (my isn’t this word becoming popular now!) to monitor both government and opposition. I don’t think any existing NGOs did this until now. » Read more: New Indian Coalition says no to MIC
Sivarasa vowed to bring up the issue of HINDRAF ISA detainees. The parliment is going to be very interesting to follow. I hope TV will show it live 🙂
What we consider as key concerns, I would start with the issues like the ISA and release of the five Hindraf detainees.
Another interesting he mentioned was that MP “job” is “part-time” He still has his law firm to run!
Being an MP is not a full-time position, it’s a part-time thing. It’s an honorary position. It is not (an) executive (position). So I have to carry on (with my legal career). » Read more: Interesting Interview with Subang MP Sivarasa
One son in Parliment, another in state assembly. Not bad! An achievement for Karpal Singh. The people who voted the sons will harbor hopes that they will be next Lions of Dato Keramat/Puchong. All the best, and for sure you’ll need it, Jagdeep! » Read more: first step for Jagdeep
The community would not be forgetting the HINDRAF ISA detainees, and constantly remind the government to release them. The longer they are detained, the more resentment against the government. So far, the MIC camp has been silent on this. One way for them to butter the Indian community is to join in and ask for the release of the detainees. Once the parliment is convened, or whenever MIC has the chance to meet the PM, it should put forth the request. MHS has done it, now MIBA also asking for release. » Read more: MIBA calls for HINDRAF 5 release
