I have to make a guess here. If the court insisted that the poor lady is to be detained at the rehabilitation center to be brainwashed, it will provoke more anger against those who supported the ruling. Imagine a person who did things contrary to the religion being given consultation to mend her ways and see the true path. It would have been a great comedy indeed! Luckily, the court chose not to make a drama out of the religion. » Read more: Convert allowed to renounce Islam

JAKIM says no to convert informing kin
April 30th, 2008These comedians based their points on the fact that:
Based on Syariah laws, there is no nas (quotations from the Quran to prove or settle a point) compelling a person wishing to convert to Islam to inform the family before doing so
Now, since the person haven’t convert yet, since when did Syariah laws need to be refered to? This is the problem when these guys meddle in something which is not in their territory yet. This kind of forum should be held by alls the non-Muslim legals experts so that can represent the true parties – the PROSPECTIVE converts (while awake or in comatose).
Please don’t infringe on others’ rights. » Read more: JAKIM says no to convert informing kin
Murugesan tells his version of Padang Jawa temple demolition
April 30th, 2008Well, when the party and its boss come under attack, more “truths” seem to appear. Now is Murugesan’s turn to tell his version of what happened at Padang Jawa on that fateful day. MIC would have tried to cover up this earlier to protect UMNO, but looks like their action is backfiring on them. Toyo is becoming a problem from BN, and maybe, just maybe, MIC have been set up to be UMNO’s henchmen to get rid of Toyo. Or possibly, Toyo have been tasked to retire Samy? » Read more: Murugesan tells his version of Padang Jawa temple demolition
Khir says Samy ordered temple demolition…
April 29th, 2008Looks like Samy is being attacked by Khir Toyo now. Their little feud started back in December. which one of them have selective memory? Samy? Toyo? PM?
I’m pretty sure that Toyo is not being clear. There are ample photos showing the temple wall being damaged and deities broken BEFORE Deepavali. Residents from the place can surely verify this. Thanish who is from that area had written about this. In fact there is statements on Selangor SUK website stating temple demolition was carried out before deepavali. Toyo had also repeated what he mentions now earlier. He only added that it was Samy who ordered the demolition (AFTER deepavali).
Samy Vellu called me on the night of Nov 15 and told me that Hindraf (Hindu Rights Action Force) people had infiltrated the temple and that it must be demolished that night itself,
plans to streamline construction and demolition of places of worship
April 25th, 2008It doesn’t make any sense to build a mosque where there aren’t many Muslims, or a house of worship in the middle of nowhere
Strong comments indeed. We have seen places of worship located next to unhygenic facilities. But is what the minister said applicable? Religion is something personal. For some religion, place of worship can be a small as a corner in a wall. It will need a lot of maneuvering to convince relocation and positioning of place of worships. » Read more: plans to streamline construction and demolition of places of worship
