hello sir…im glad i found ur website…its so helpful to me..i got 4A1,2A2,1B3,2B4,16C…can i do pharmacy and where do i do it?
Hi,
you didn’t give the details of the results. For pharmacy, biology is critical. you have 6As, so a bit hard to get JPA scholarship (plus deadline is over ready). i guess the best option is to do foundation in local uni/colleges. there’s many of them – inti, masterskill, etc.
you should also talk to the people listed in “guidance” page for more info.
thanks a lot 4 yr very useful infos.
i got 11a1 and 1a2.
i already applied 4 jpa scolarship
do i have a chance 2 get it?
congrats on getting 12As. I think the chance is great fro JPA’s PILN. hope your ko-ko record is good and you do well in the interview.
thank you for the valuable information. I have watched you in Astro Vanavil’s Vizhuthugal. Now i know the way should i go.
we are glad to hear that. all the best.

Note that deadline is extended to 7th april.

download the application form first at:
http://www-static.shell.com/static/my-en/downloads/careers_recruitment/scholarship_application_form.doc
hei, thanks 4 ur infos at the website. I got 6A’s(Bm,Eng,Maths, Est, Chem and Moral) and 3B3+1B4(B3 in Bio, A.Maths, and History), (B4 in Physics). So i’ve planned 2 do medic in Russia. The min requirement 2 do medic is 5B’s in all the critical subjects. The problem is I need loan only 4 the first year. Where can I get it?
congrats on your results. for the loan, i guess one option is to try MIED. Secondly is to approach MCEF and plead your case to them. Third is to take bank loan. Other loan options is SOCSO (if parent is disabled or passed away).
i got 1a1 2a2 2b3 2b4 2c5 n 1c6
im interested in physiotherapy but my mum ask 2 do teaching n others ask 2 do stpm….i dont know wan 2 do wat can u help me out?plz…n thanx 4 all useful in formations…
Hi,
well, you didnt tell what results were for which subjects, so a bit hard to justify your choice (or your mom’s choice).
Lets start with physiotherapy. to do degree, you have to either start with foundation or diploma (see which is cheaper/faster). minimum 3 credits, but some places ask for 5 credits. no problem with your results. should have a good credit in Bio. you can also apply for kementerian kesihatan’s skim separa perubatan (application still open-refer in this blog). its fully sponsored, and i think physiotherapy is offered as well in it. you will get a diploma, but from there, can think of further studies. if in private college, can straight do degree program via foundation/diploma.
Teaching – to do degree, you have to apply to MOE’s skim perguruan lepas SPM. DEADLINE for this is 22nd March, so you have to be fast. I say if you are interested in teaching, then try applying for it. for secondary school teaching, you need 7As. for primary school teaching, need to have sains sukan or seni visual for most of the courses. so, you may find that not many options. BTW, you will need to get BSN pin number from bank. some banks say its sold out, so better be fast. buy from BSN bank only.
STPM – will give you more choices for degree later. non-muslim SPM leavers have less choice for degree in public university. but if you are interested in private college/uni, can skip STPM.
my daughter got 9 1A and 1 2A. She is interested in medine under JPA and have already applied. What are the chances . TQ
dear sir, chances…hmmm…what can i say. you read the papers. i expect another round of drama from MCA/MIC etc. pls send a copy of her application to MIC HQ. they compile the applications and later can do rayuan easily. There’s 2000 places and at ratio of 45:55 (if like last time). So, have to compete with many non-malays for the 45% chance. then there’s interview, hospital visit, test etc.
all the best.
hi sir i got 6a’s in bm,bi,sej,math,tamil n kesusas.tamil i got 3b in est,moral n add mats n 3c in bio,phy,chemi..i wn 2 do accounting..which scholarship should i apply?
well 6As is a bit hard for scholarship. tough competition. besides, you want to study a field which you didnt take the subject in SPM. so, harder to convince the interviewers.
hello sir, i would like 2 know about the ”program pendedahan kerjaya seorang doktor” by JPA…i mean please explain detaily about tat n is everyone who applied 4 medicine will b qualified? thank u.
Hi, let me give you a tip – search the phrase ”program pendedahan kerjaya seorang doktor” in google. you’ll get load of tips from others who had gone thru it. everyone who apply for medicine and shortlisted must undergo the program.
sir i get 3 1A (chemistry,add maths.maths), 5 2A (english,est,bio,sejarah,moral) and 2 B3 (bm,physics)….i want 2 do foundation (chemical engineering)….am i qualified? i applied 4 IPTA and matriculation…can i get it? i applied for petronas scholarship also…can i get? thanks sir!
well, i wish you all the best. hope you can get it. pray hard 🙂
sir, for shell scholarship they ask to upload the certificates all but they allow to upload until 4 files only….how to upload other certificates all?
pls email them and ask. scholarships@shell.com
dear sir,
my nephew scored 9a’s and 1b(biology) in spm 2009. his father is getting socso (unable to work). he wants to do a levels in sunway or taylors. Will he be able to get the security commision malaysia’s scholarship?
and i am wondering why many indian students scoring b’s in biology when they get all a’s in other subjects….let it be!! anyway your website is superb! thumbs up!
Hi malar,
congrats to your nephew. he should try to apply SOCSO loan as back up plan (upto rm200k loan). whether he can get SC scholarship or not, well not for me to decide. I wish him all the best. I hope he gets shortlisted and does well in the interview.
why many indians get “B” in bio…hmm…hard to say, we don’t know the actual statistics.
An informative website, thank you very much sir,
I would like to enquire the possibilities of scholarship with the results as following
5A’s ( Maths, English, EST, Physics,Sejarah) 4B’s (Chemistry, Moral, B.M, Lukisan Kejuruteraan) 1C ( Add Maths)
I’m interested in the fields of Information Technology (basically computing)
If it is not of a burden, i would also like to know the pro’s and con’s between choosing diploma programmes and foundations…
Thank You In Advance.
Well, 5As a bit hard to get scholarship. there’s 6700++ people with all As going around.
It is good choice. pls check the facilities etc of the college you want to study. go thru the syllabus of the course and ask around if its marketable. if can, talk to existing students of the college.
diploma
– 1 to 1.5 years
– can enter 3rd year of degree (save cost)
– focus on IT subjects
foundation
– general subjects
– 1 year
– continue degree at first year
– can choose from a variety of degree programs if decide to change mind from IT to others
halo sir….the info on this website is really helpful. sir, i got 8A1 n 3A2in my spm. I applied for jpa scholarship and i want to wat is my chances to get the scholarship. Thank you.
well, the chances are there. competition is high, so hopefully you get it. keep your fingers crossed.
btw, the shortlisted names for “kerjaya perubatan” session is out today.
Hi Sir.
I got 12 A1’s in my SPM and I’m interested in medicine. Besides JPA and IMU scholarships, what else can I apply?
What about loans? Where can I get them?
hi,
congrats on your results.
there’s two ways to it:
1. you get a place for medicine studies and then apply for scholarship.
2. you get a scholarship that offers place in a university.
for the second case, try all the uni that offers medical seats – AIMST, Royal Medical College Perak, etc.
Loans – PTPTN, guilds, banks.
dear sir..
i got 2A ( biology, pa ) and 2A- ( chemistry, math ) for my stpm..
What are the chances to get medicine in local universities?
( especially in ums, unimas or ukm.. )
Hi, i’m not sure about the chances. you have to check out the cut-off points. medicine is usually 4.00.
hi sir…im vy hapy 2 c d info given bt feel abit sad coz mis tis site last year n js kno bout it…nw im stdying in kedah matriculation n wil b glad if sir can sugest me any schlorships aftr my programme nx month…tank u so muc sir…=)
hi,
you have to wait for the scholarship news next month. economy down, so not sure who will offer and who will not. you have to surf the net, read the papers, and refer to notice boards etc.
hi..i need an opinion.. i got 4A1(maths,bm,english,est), 2A2(sej and physics),3B3 (bio, chemist, moral) n 1B4(add math)..im interested to do mechanical engineerin in uniten but,my mum wants me to do med(but i just thought of going ahead wit wat i wan) n she’s askin me to do stpm..n recently i spoke to one of my family fren n he also ask me to do stpm..but my cousins are tellin me tat stpm is tough n they are askin me to avoid stpm..so im confuse now..which is better n wat should i do?
well, if you are not interested in med, can’t really force you. i hope you don’t faint at the sight of blood and not color-blind, and of course need to have passion for treating patients.
STPM is, without doubt, very tough. many students will try to avoid it. the main reason to do STPM is to gain entry into local uni to study a variety of degree courses (medicine means 4.00 CGPA). it also gives a two-year time for students to figure out what career to pursue. if you intend to study in private uni, then can skip STPM since the foundation programs are one year only.
Which is better? well medicine is almost guaranteed a job. Mechanical – depends. If got the finances, better option is to skip STPM and go into mech/medic program.
hi there it’s me again..i need to ask 1 more thing..i’ve applied for scholarship such as jpa,tm, and tnb..n im currently also applyin for other scholarships.. would i get any scholarship based on my results?thanks..
a bit hard. you got 6As right? there’s a very slim chance that you may be called for interview. it also depends on your kok-ko activities, skills, sports achievement etc.
how to apply for pilot? i got 8a in spm.. i got A in bm, bi, chemistry, add math, math modern, biology, sejarah, moral…but i got B in physics.
Can i get scholarship or loan?? Please help me..
hi,refer to other replies i gave in this blog (you can use the search function at the sidebar – use keyword like “pilot”, “www.mfa.edu.my”, “MAS”, “DCA”). also go to http://www.dca.gov.my to see the whole process of becoming a pilot. there are few places to learn in malaysia (you need to pay). other option is to apply to MAS, air asia, SIA, etc for pilot program (bonded by them). To be a pilot, you study and apply for license, so its not a pure academic study like degree program. so, loan only from banks, i guess.
thank you for your help sir..
hi sir !!!! i got 9A’s and 3B’s in my SPM examination 2008. what scholorship can i apply ???? and i also apply matriculation .As a indian student do i stand a chance to get matriculation ??
hi,
i’m not sure of your ambition, but i guess all the scholarships listed so far in this blog is applicable.
Matric – tough chance, but you never know.
how do i apply to become a pilot?? i got 8A’s in recent spm… i scored A1 for bm, bi, moral, history, biology, add maths, modern maths and a A2 for chemistry… i got a b3 in physics… Can i apply for scholarships or loans?? Please help me..
i have replied after your earlier comment.
hello..i got 11a1 and applied for JPA medicine. Now have to go to the program pendedahan things. What they will do there? What should i wear? How long will it take??
congrats!
as i mentioned in another comment’s reply, search the net for “program pendedahan kerjaya perubatan” and you will get some tips. it takes few days, and i’m sure you know how adults in government sector dress 🙂 if not sure, just think back how teachers/govt doctors dress up (or down).
u mean like shirt and pants??
for guys – formal clothes.
for girls – pants, long skirt, baju kurung, would be good choice.
heyyy mesh…congrats yeah!! im goin 4 d programme too….n i wuz told by one of d jpa authority that we shud turn up in our formal traditional attire 4 gals and slack and shirt 4 guys…i think that is wat poobalan sir is tryin 2 say….ryt? 🙂 btw which hospital hve u chosen 4 d program mesh??
I wnt to hospital putrajaya…
sir, i forgot to mention that i obtained 4b in my gce o level. I know i deserve a better grade because i’m not that bad in english. But my teacher said no need to recheck because normally they won’t change. My biggest fear is the gce will affect my chance to get JPA? Will it?
well, you can try appealing. its not worth to worry or think “why i didn’t recheck”. better check – dapat or tak dapat lain cerita.
it may affect your application to JPA, but give your best effort if selected for interview.
hi sir,
i have a friend who has 11 1A, 1 2A for tamil and 3B for biology. These two papers (tamil+biology) have been sent for remarking cause she has always done well in these two subjects especially bio (scoring 90 and above). Due to this contradicting grade for bio, she was not shortlisted for the JPA medicine application. She is very much in need of a full scholarship and she badly wants to do medicine in a good university. She is a very bright student. Do you of any scholarship she should apply for? Thank you so much!
i have replied to your email. as for scholarships, just have to keep an eye for suitable ones. whatever info i get, i’ll post here.
hello sir… thanks alot on your great job on giving the usefull infos….
and wat loan should i apply to study SARJANA MUDA PANDIDIKAN in MORAL/KAUNSELING….IN university..?

Hi sir. Thank you for a great website. Anyway, i heard from my friend that Sime Darby also offered scholarship. Can you pls provide a link for it??
hi, the deadline for Sime Darby is over. Currently only for open for singapore applicants.
hi sir, i’m again….. my ambition is engineer and i got 5a1, 4a2 &3b3 am istande achance to get matric????????
i think so, you have good chance.
hello sir.. I got 7 A1 for bm, bi, add maths modern maths, biology, history, moral and a A2 for chemistry and a B3 for physics. So can i know how to do medicine in the cheapest way?? because i am from middle class income family..
I also have apply for matriculation… I have try for jpa scholarship but i didn’t meet their minimum requirement… What should i do know to be a doctor in the future..Please help me..
i guess the cheapest way is to get JPA scholarship. since you said not meeting their requirements, so this option not possible.
second cheapest way is to do STPM and get scholarship.
third is to enrol in JPA-approved medical colleges and after completing at least one year, apply for JPA loan.
Some people do medicine in non-accredited colleges because they plan to migrate overseas. So, they are not bothered if the degree is not recognised in Malaysia. As long as its recognised in the country they want to move to, its ok.
I guess cheap options is to do it locally or in indonesia.
sir!!! ive gt ma spm results recently…guite unsatisfied though…7A1 3A2 in chemistry, physics and est….duhhh 🙁 ive applied jpa medicine and matrics…keepin ma fingers crossed as usual…do i stand a better chance 4 d scholarship and matrics….
All the best!
well, sir do i stand a better chance 4 jpa medic and matrics wit ma nt so outstanding results?????
god willing. 🙂
Mr Poobalan,
I finished my SAM last year. Its an Aurtralian Pre U. I gt results which are good enough to enter medic universities from russia, indon and india. First i wanted to join russia because the cost is way cheaper than india and my parents dnt encourage me to go indon. But later on, after doin research thru the net i realized russia isnt save as told by the medic agents to me and russian degrees are look down by profesionals. So i changed my mind and wanted to enter JNMC aka Jawaharlal Nehru medical college in belgaum. Another shocker there. i need to hv Rm250k cash in hand for the charges to enter. another rm200K for the rest 4 years. Is it worth it to enter JNMC for the large sum of money? or should i just continue to pursue russia? My parents are clearly dnt afford it. The maximum they can put in for me is around Rm50K. Thts all. I need a big help for the balance. I really dnt hv a mutual counsellor. The india agent criticize the russian agent and vice versa. Its really confusing. Sir cn u help me out? I really need to do sumtin. The indian college intake is very soon. around july. Thx. I can tell u the agents details if u want. good day.
hmm..it looks quite tough. need 25ok for charges only if India. If the cost is that high, why not pursue locally? at least will save cost on flight and its cheaper here in terms of accommodation and food. Also, did you approach the companies at education fair recently? there’s one called global medic community/network if i’m not mistaken. perhaps can get some idea from them.
hi,sir..i m interested in biomedical and also food science&technology.. I scored 9A1, 1A2 in my spm..which scholarship should i apply for?
well, refer to the scholarships page and apply all those suitable. also, you can write to companies involved in food technology like nestle, double decker, etc to see if there are offering any scholarship.
Sir i want to be a doctor..but how?? i got 8a for bm, bi, moral, add math, math modern, chemistry, biology and history..for physics i scored a b3… So what should i do to become a doctor?? for your information i am not from rich family.. my family cannot sponsor my education..Where can i apply for loan??
well, i hope you applied for JPA scholarship last week.
other than that, you can apply to local private colleges that offer medicine course, and apply for PTPTN loan.
if got parents who in SOCSO is now deceased or disabled, can apply SOCSO loan.
take bank loan.
or do STPM and try in two years time.
sir…ive just finished my a-levels in inti….thus, i planned 2 pursue ma mbbs degree…as my a-levels results are quite gud which is 4As, could i get jpa scholarship to pursue my studies overseas or mayb in the local private unis?? do i stand a gud chance 4 d scholarship?? hw about d other scholarships??
hi, pls check my posting on PSD scholarship criteria. if you get a place for mbbs in the listed universities, you can also apply for JPA scholarship.
another question sir!!! is manipal university of medicine really recognized in malaysia?? where can i get the list of medical universities recognized by LAN?? plz help me sir…
at the moment its wait and see. but many people are worried because india itself delisted manipal. you can get the list from JPA website (check out my “related websites” page) or from MMC – malaysian medical council.

sir… i got 6A1 (b.i, math, add math, history, chemistry, moral) ,3A2 (bm,fizik, est) and a B4 (bio). does i can get jpa scholarship for chemical engineering. any other scholarship that can i apply for………………………………………………

hi sir…I’m happy to tell you that jpa called me for an interwvew on 2nd April…but am nervous and worried about what they going to ask to me in the interview…I apply for engineering at japan..
So can you tell how to do well in the interview?! what should i do impress the interviewer?!#
Please help me…thank you
hi, sorry to say that i’m not aware of interview details.
as general guideline:
– current issues
– world affairs
– why your course
– some decision making questions
– how you can contribute to nation
– memorising stuff – ministers, rukunegara, agong, etc.
– about yourself – weakness, strength, how to improve etc.
– why japan
– role playing – if your were somebody (like PM), what would you do when something happens
– a bit on JPA/government
as in common interviews – be confident, dress properly, be polite. no long hair. be punctual.
Sir i got selected for a jpa scholarship interview. I scored 10A1s and applied for an engineering course. Sir can you please give me some valuable tips and advice for the interview? What are the dos and donts? Also do u think i stand a chance to get the scholarship? I would also like to thank you for your sincere efforts in trying to help Indian students like me by providing information about scholarships which are not easily available in the newspapers. Please reply. Thank you. I wish u a pleasant day.
Sir i got selected for a jpa scholarship interview. I scored 10a1s. Can you please give me some tips and advice on the interview? What are the dos and donts? Also do u think i stand a chance? I am worried because my senior last year scored straight As and was actively involved in co-curricular activities. He was a good debater(english) and public speaker(english) as well. But sadly he was short listed for the interview but did not get the jpa scholarship. However he got the matriculation. So that is the reason why i am worried. If a student like him could not get a jpa scholarship, then what about me? I was active in co-curricular activities too but then i’m still nervous. By the way thank you very much for your continuous effort in helping indians like me. Thank you. Please reply.
well, congrats for getting the interview. one hurdle over. i’m not familiar with the interview process, but i gave some ideas on another comment in this same page. check it.
as for your senior’s case, every student case is unique, so we can’t really know why he didn’t get. perhaps he got nervous during interview or there were simply better students than him. or its the other reason – color.
be cool. meditate a bit to calm down the nerves.
ethu eppadi nadarkattho, athu nallatherke nadakathu.
hi sir,
i hv completed my diploma in pharmacy and would like to pursue my degree in psychology, and would like to know where else i can get loan other then ptptn and mied?
you also can try penang state loan if you stay in penang and perak state study loan if you stay in perak
sir,
i’ve just completed my alevels and manage to get 4a’s. Just want to enquire…
1. Is there a JPA scholarship offered if I want to pursue a degree overseas?
2. And for the Hong Leong Foundation Scholarship Programme, do they accept Alevel results or is it just for STPM leavers?
3. The Shell scholarship I realise the application form is given but how to we send it online after filling it? Is there an email we can mail it to?
4. And lastly is Maxis offering any scholarship for first year degree students as well?
Your response to these questions will be much appreciated. Please and thank you.
Hi,
1. I’m not sure. Pls check with JPA staff. I think the scholarships are mainly for SPM leavers. STPM top scorers will be given place in local uni. Tel: 03-88853049
2. Pls check with Hong Leong.
3. You have to register in Shell website (url provided in the listing). after that, have to upload the application form.
4. well, no news so far from Maxis. you can Call Maxis at 1 300 82 1717 or email scholar@maxis.com.my .FYI, the last time it was offered was last November.
hai sir,me like to study civil engineering..so can i gt any scholarship..me gt 3A1,1A2,3B3,2B4,1C and 1D..do the feild hv job in the futere.?
scholarship, i’m not so sure. there’s many all As scorers out there. you have to try applying to all the scholarships that is advertised.
job-wise, well if not in malaysia, then in overseas.
Hi sir… its me again. sir, i applied for jpa scholarship for medicine and i was called for the program pendedahan kerjaya seorang doktor.after going through the program i think medicine is not the right choice for me. i was called for an interview on 31st march. sir, i want to know whether do i still hav the chance to change my course before the interview? if i do that do i still hav the chance to get the scholarship? please help me to find out about this. i am really tensed up. i dont know wat to do. please help me… please….
this is a bit tough. i think most likely you will not get another chance. people look for reasons to dismiss, and you are providing one. that’s why they do the program – to filter out people who are not suitable to do medicine.
anyway, i have no experience dealing with cases where students want to change options to another degree. best if you ask around, especially MIC – Prof Marimuthu.
helo sir….m 2007 spm leaver.. i jz scored 3A’s(bm,bi and maths), 6B’s(accounts.history,physic,chemistry,biology,moral),and 3C’s(chinese,EST,add maths) in my SPM. M doin Foundation in Sciece a year course in a private college at tiz moment. M finishing my studies in June 2009. I wish to persue a medical degree after tat. But my family couldnt afford it. May i hv any suggestion bout any loans or scholarship that m eligible for. my result in foundation is quite ok.i planned to apply for SOCSO loan but i hv no confident tat i wil get it coz if not mistaken there must b lot of ppl seeking for it. i realy wish 2 persue medical degree sir either locally or overseas.m jz hardly seeking for financial aid. hope u could help me out sir.tq
well, you have to wait till june 2009 to see which scholarship is open at that time. most will ask for the foundation results or proof of acceptance to study medicine.
if you apply to study in local, then can try for JPA loan also. but must finish one semester first.
SOCSO eligibility is different from the rest – your parents must be a contributor but now is disabled or passed away. not everyone can fulfill that requirement.
Sir, it seems tat Korea, China, Taiwan, Japan r offering scholarhip for Malaysian student. is it possible for me to apply for it?
Usually to whom they will give more priority? chinese is it? is the competition to get it very high? And is tat the studies in these countries is acceptable by our Malaysian government?
Tq
of course you can apply, but i’m not sure if it applies for medicine studies. the priority depends on the requirements – most want to promote inter-cultural exchange, so they mind choosing malay or indian. again, depends on the scholarship provider’s objectives.
to check the studies acceptable or not, you have to refer with JPA. check the URL at my “related websites” page. from there, you can verify which universities and programs are recognised.
can you give the instruction about how to apply in alam..
hi, its quite straight forward. read the details in the page above. you fill up the form and email it to the given email address. the link to alam is http://www.alam.edu.my
