MIC president Datuk Seri S. Samy Vellu today launched a stinging attack against a non-governmental organisation, the Hindu Rights Action Force (HINDRAF), which claimed that the Barisan Nasional (BN) government had done little to address the woes of the Malaysian Indian community over the last 50 years.
“I must state here that if there is anything that affects the Indian community, the MIC will be there to fight it out even when we are partners of the Barisan Nasional. To me, I have never remained idle and I don’t waste time,” Samy Vellu, who is also Works Minister, told Bernama today.
The MIC supremo was asked to comment on a 18-point memorandum by HINDRAF, which was handed to the Prime Minister’s office last Sunday by the organisation’s chairman P. Waytha Moorthy, secretary V.K Regu and its legal adviser P. Uthayakumar.
Apart from stating that the Indian community was marginalised by the BN government, in the memorandum, HINDRAF also wanted an end to special privileges given to Malays. The memorandum also took a dig at Umno asking the largest political party in the country to “stop playing politics” through the “mandore” (supervisor) system by dishing out aid to the Indian community on a piecemeal basis.

My stand remains not to support Hindraf, its got nothing to do with racism. All my points is to justify my stands, Malaysian regargless Indian, Chinese, Malay, Kadazan, etc should only take amicable approach in addressing their plight. You are so naive by saying UMNO members only get supports from their 3million members. I never joint UMNO, most of my friend since my childhood are not UMNO members. But, they all share common principle. BN and its component members form strong government, and Majority Malaysian wants a strong government to prosper Malaysia.
To All, who keep on doing personal attack, please be rational with your own stand. I play my role as piece loving Malaysian. I’ve been voting since the year I eligible to vote. I do vote for opposition but mostly I vote for BN. I just want Hindraf to stop manipulating facts, distort and dilute Malaysians fundamental principle to strive together and develop Malaysia.
I’m very busy and yet I sacrifice my precious times to play my role as peace loving Malaysian to discourage Malaysian from supporting Hindraf. I provide you all the reality of the geo politics in Malaysia. I’m not racist, but strongly support the government to ensure Malaysia safety and security.

3) To trade and do business, licenses, permits etc
4) Primary, secondary, skills Training, university and overseas university education.
5) No special privileges for the Malays,
6) No discrimination of any ethnic community based on race or religion,
7) The retention of all their places of worship in particular Hindu temples, crematoriums and burial sites,
8) Freedom of Religion,
9) Malaya is to be a Secular State and not an Islamic state,
10) Right to mother tongue education in particular Tamil schools to be fully aided,
11) Minimum wage for the lowest paid, and
12) Equal recognition as sons of soil for all Malayan born.

MP: perhaps tax exemption can be provided for contribution to such as “indian development fund” and added with ringgit to ringgit match by govt. this can be extended to a “orang asli development fund” as well. i mean if such funds (like mara etc) can be create for the poor majority, there no reason at all to not create the same for the poor minorities, unless of course there is insincerity and selfishness involved.

1. Every working indians must contribute RM 10 from their EPF every month and this fund must be governed by Bank Negara..
2. 1 million EPF paying Indians will add up to RM 10 million per month to this fund..
3. This fund is to be used only for education and skills related programs only.. No politics, No religion involved…
4. This fund must be approved as an legislation by government, same as SINDA in Singapore..
5. We, indians no need to rely on other race to build our own community..
6. Forget about samy Vellu’s fund collection and his betrayal…
7. Let’s start a new life.. Think about it..
Please think about it.. and give ideas to make this a reality.. your good views and ideas very much needed by our indians.. Stop blaming each other and start to think positively..

Sudah lama kita memanggil kaum melayu sebagai Bumiputra, orang muslim orang UMNO, why don’t kita saja jadi satu united bangsa yang di perkenalkan sebagai orang Malaysia. Kan orang cina juga orang Malaysia? Kan orang India juga orang Malaysia? Kan MyKad menyatakan perkataan Malaysia? Lebih baik kalau mula dari 2008 kita drop perkattan “melayu”, “cina” dan “india” dari buku-buku teks sekolah menengah. Di negara lain macam France, Italy, Holland terdapat banyak orang afrika yang sudah dapat warganegara Peranchis dan kerajaan Peranchis refer mereka sebagai orang Peranchis bukan orang afrika. Saya juga ada ramai kawan cina kat England yang mempunyai warganegara UK tetapi orang british hanya panggil kawan cina sebagai orang british tidak kira bangsa atau agama. MP: Malaysian Hindu Sangam says there’s 17,000 over temples. Now, why are there more temple/population ratio for Hindus? (i) hindus pray to different deities for different reasons, thus you can find about 3 temples per location. just like denominations in christianity, i believe. however, it is possible to house few deities in one temple/location, so this can be a possible solution.(ii) migration/displacement of people from estates. The temples are seldom moved together with the migrating/displaced people. the temple left behind at estate areas are taken care by people still living nearby those temples, while those who got displaced/migrated will build new ones. thus, one solution is to relocate temples as well as the people. (iii) pockets of hindus are all over the place. there are very few locations with high indian population. so, with small population in a widespread location, logically people want to go to temple near to their home. just like a surau in every taman. if we set a temple or two (or any other religious building) for every 5km radius, that will be fairer rather than comparing it to population ratio. now, if we are as small as singapore and have good, affordable transportation system, maybe can revise the 5km idea. (iv) the hindus are well known to be religious and also temple building civilisation. a well known phrase in tamil says “don’t live in a place where there’s no temple”. so, how to let go of this culture? and i thought we are living in a multicultural society!.
BTW, 16,000 is mosques only or includes suraus (even those at shopping centers/govt depts/schools/hospitals etc.)?
For a population of 2 million Indians, what is the need for 20,000 temples in Malaysia? Remember, there are 16 million Malays and just 16,000 mosques.
That was the rationale given by local authorities before razing down illegal constructions. Plus it is easier to manage, state support and monitor the activities of large places of worship with CCTV than smaller ones.
By exaggerating, inciting against and stereotyping Bumiptera schemes and insulting the Agong (by carrying photos of foreign monarchs), Hindraf has done more harm than good to Indians in the long-term.

my dear indian brothers just a word of advise . there s going to be a time in the near future the whole world is going to face a monitory crisis.go get urselves a piece of agriculture land and learn how to develop it .in the times of crisis money will have no value. if you have a land you it can save you and your family from this crisis.take this advise very seriously . you will never regret it. we can exel in this field cos indian s are the best planters in the world . god bless and good luck.plant short crops vegetable and grow live stock .cows goat chicken fish ect .

We love what Hindraf is doing, wish all Mat Rempits will follow the Hindraf way of society solution. Here we are a group of educated Mat Rempits roaming the KL streets with our Cup-Chai and also Harley Davidson. How we can elude the FRU and polis so far is by protesting at night, we don’t protest by walking – we protest by riding our Bikes from one end to another. We don’t carry placards and posters but we modify our bikes to make more noise. But our Mat Rempits still have got a lot to learn from Hindraf. We can beat up some polis to release tension, and our brother Khairi Jamaludin will bail us out so that we are above the law. In fact, our Mat Rempits have recruited a lot of Hindraf members, we have so far recruited bout 73 hindraf members and still recruiting. Our big brother Khairi is setting up a Mat Rempit fund to undertake to change all Mat Rempits to Mat Cemerlang. With the Mat Rempit funds now available, we can roam the city ….the Hindraf way!!!!!!!!!
