Nothing was mentioned in YSS’s website, but SV has confirmed that Denison Jayasooria has resigned from YSS, even though the “resignation is yet to be accepted”. Denison wants to do new things and concentrate on church work. Well, we have learned not to believe what Samy says given his track record. » Read more: Denison quits YSS

interivew with Dr Xavier Jayakumar
/* April 10th, 2008 by poobalan | View blog reactions No comments »Exclusive interview with the guy who defeated Vigneswaran (Kota Raja seat). He talks about his portfolio, representing Indian community, temple problems, health issues, etc.
Interestingly, he says there is only one Indian EXCO in the state because another is in ISA (Manoharan) while the other is still a junior member (Bukit Melawati seat). Seniority can be used as one of the criteria to select EXCO, along with experience, skills, education, etc. However, Xavier said that the EXCO need to reflect the racial composition of the state, effectively meaning a quota system. Sungai Palas BOH Tea Plantation
/* April 9th, 2008 by poobalan | View blog reactions No comments »Had the chance to visit Sungai Palas Tea Plantation, which belongs to BOH. The trip was at late afternoon, so no sunrise/sunset shots. The turn-off to Sungai Palas estate was about 2 minutes from Equatorial Hotel (heading towards Simpang Pulai). From the turn-off, its a 2km horror trip of single lane road. Its still seems to be a miracle how we could actually end up at the plantation. The curves were sharp and narrow, one wrong turn of the wheel, and its free fall into the tea plantation down below.

Dear HINDRAF supporters.
Mr.P.Uthayakumar had this message to convey to all HINDRAF supporters on the 100th day of ISA arrest and detention. The message was relayed to a close family member and I had prepared his message in a written form to reflect what he himself would have written had he be given the chance.
