Not sure if Sivasubramaniam will be taken to task and discplined. For him, what he did was right, but then after being explained, he said it is misunderstanding. Probably he was frustated and had received many iniquiries from the Indian community in Buntong and Perak. Sivasubramaniam a second-time winner

IPOH: Buntong assemblyman A. Sivasubramaniam, who describes himself as a social activist, made his election debut in 2004 when he lost to MCA veteran Datuk Yik Phooi Hong by 2,382 votes.  In the March 8 polls, he made a comeback by winning the Buntong seat beating Barisan Nasional’s Lee Tung Lai by a 5,315 vote majority.

Sivasubramaniam, who was born on Nov 28 1966, received his early education at SK Raja Di Hilir Ekram in Jalan Pasir Puteh, Ipoh and later at SM St Michael Ipoh.  He obtained a degree in Business Administration through a long distance learning programme from Paramount University of Technology in the United Sates.

He joined the DAP in 1998 and is currently the Perak DAP assistant secretary. He is also a national DAP Socialist Youth committee member. He stays at Taman Rishah and is married to housewife V. Mageswari, 32. They have four children.

After saying he resigned, Siva made a major U-turn after 6 hours. There’s few things one can summarise from this drama:

1. I suspect that there are some some of pre-election agreement by DAP candidates to quite their seats if the decided to jump parties. Maybe Sivasubramaniam was reminded of this and any legal action that could be taken against him by DAP if he resigned. » Read more: sivasubramaniam about turn

Waiting for Amma again

Having decided not to go to MINES for the second day of Amma’s visit to Malaysia, I went again since Then wanted to give it another try. I was hoping the this time we will get an earlier slot to meet her. This time I reached MINES at 6.15pm and surprisingly found that there were much less crowd in the ground floor shoplots. There were no buses as well in the parking areas.  Managed to enter the hall early. The crowd was about 1000 people only. While waiting for Amma to arrive, some video clip on Amma were screened. Quite interesting. I enjoyed the scene were she danced with the kids. » Read more: Waiting for Amma again

no ban says Education DG

The issues of schools not allowed to invite leaders from opposition-ruled states appeared in Penang and Selangor. The Sun then reported that all 5 states were given the directive. The Education Department DG clarified that such ruling existed for long time. Only certain people were allowed to be invited – Education Minister and his deputy, Education DG, state directors and the representatives. But, how many times have we seen in TV and newspapers pictures of state EXCOs, MPs, businessmen, corporate leaders, Menteri Besars and even PM/DPM in schools? The DG also said that schools have to write to get permission if want to invite others than those mentioned in the ruling. Now who will approve requests by schools to invite Lim Guan Eng, for example? » Read more: no ban says Education DG
