reMIC

Rebrand. Rejuvenate. Revamp. Revitalise. Re-energise. Replace. Looks like words taken from a dictionary! Well, “re-” all you want. Why not just reMIC the whole of MIC? Close shop and try something else for a living.  Or quite en-bloc and call for early elections. How about setting retirement age at 72 and limiting term of office-bearers? Oh..one more thing – ensure all members are from Tamil school and their children go to Tamil school, or drop the “champion rights of Tamil school” tag. » Read more: reMIC

Hmm… is this the actual reason for one the MIC candidates being dropped from Johor state seat election? In the beginning, Samy Velu said the candidate was dropped because the constituency “had more women voters” and thus a woman candidate was chosen. Even the original candidate said that. 3 Indians EXCOs remain a dream

Earlier, NST reported that there may be 3 Indian EXCO’s in Perak, with DAP “allocating” 2 seats out of 6, and PKR “allocating” 1 out of 3. There were even confident words from a DAP “insider” as well in the report.

As it went, in the end only ONE Indian was sworn in on Saturday – Sivanesan from DAP. Both Sivakumar and Sivasubramaniam were left with wishful thinking only. What happened to DAP’s 2 “allocated” seats? Did they chose the best men/women for the job?  So  it ended up as 5-1, instead of 4-2. » Read more: 3 Indians EXCOs remain a dream

Hmmm…DAP only have Chinese and Indian candidates. So, not much options. But what irritates me is that the idea of seat being allocated by race. DAP allocates 2 seats for Indians, and the balance 4 for Chinese, says a “high-ranking insider”. Why not pick the best 6 for the job? Of course it is heartening to know that Indians are finally being given chance to serve the state/country at a higher level, but I hope these guys do the job well and not spoil the community’s name. » Read more: 3 Indians in Perak EXCO?

What can we expect now?

The local dailies will be offering more videoblog ala Youtube, setting up blogs and updating news at breakneck speeds. We see The Star as one example of a Internet-embracing media, while Utusan, BH, NST, Sun, tamil dailies lag far behind. NST has been providing video feeds of late. So, we can expect more of the one-sided stories to be available online as well. More IT jobs for the young people! » Read more: BN to engage in cyberwar
