Penang Deputy Chief Minister Prof P Ramasamy told Makkal Sakti supporters at the forum that the DAP would exhaust all means and ways to secure the release of the Hindraf five soon. “The DAP will surely raise the issue in the Parliament at first instance,” he said.

The best Pakatan MPs can hope for is to raise enough publicity and dissatisfaction among the public to pressure PM to “relook into the necessity and implementation” of ISA. I doubt any of the BN MPs will support the motion less they want to end up like Sothinathan or Devamany. » Read more: Motion to abolish ISA by MPs

I have to take back my words. I never thought that Vasantha will be allowed to visit his sick daughter in KL, but he did. At least a bit of compassion was shown. Hope the little girl will be lifted by her father’s visit and recover soon.

Vasantha looks a different person with the beard and all. By the way, he passed message that Uthayakumar is feeling better now with proper medication and food suitable for his diabetic condition. » Read more: ISA detainee gets to visit sick daughter

I don’t think the emotional factor will sway the Home Minister. The situation is quite clear. Under no circumstances should the detainees be released.  Better still if they die due to some illness. I think that is the strategy now. If not, when some coalition partners ask for release and other partners do not object, why the Home Ministry not doing anything except saying still waiting for police feedback? As long as no order from the boss, nothing moves.  Vishaleny Ihave to wait longer. » Read more: ISA detainee Vasantha’s daughter sick

The Home Minister may have denied accusations that proper medical care have been denied for Uthaya Kumar, but no one seems to believe him. Anyway, about 200++ people gathered to accompany Uthaya’s mother to hand over memorandum to persuade PM to allow for proper medical treatment for Uthaya. Even though the Star said the memo was handed over to PM, information via email says it was given to one of his private secretaries. The appeal letter and Waytha’s press statement is also available online. I just hope the memo doesn’t end up like those that MIC and others submitted throughout the years. » Read more: Uthaya’s mother sends appeal to PM
