IPOH: Solving local issues affecting the people is not exactly the job of a member of parliament but M. Kulasegaran, MP for Ipoh Barat, still demands solutions from the authorities so as not to let his constituents down.

We have seen before where a person wants to hold many posts since he/she has firm belief that he/she can do an excellent job. And most of the time, it will backfire. The person will end up being a part-timer for every job. Plus, he will be branded as greedy and power crazy, even though the intentions are good. So, looks like Sivakumar may get the assembly speaker position, but there’s a small matter of contest since the opposition BN also proposing another candidate. Earlier, it was the other Siva – Sivasubramaniam who created a ruckus by quiting DAP when only one Indian was selected for EXCO position. Sivanesan skips PTA meeting due to Ministry circular

From what I understand, the circular says only selected people can be called to officiate or launch the events. The state leaders can still visit as part of their jobs or as normal VIP. What Sivanesan is saying sounds like partially true only. If any school has health problem – like food poisoning, he would be expected to go there to investigate and get reports, not to officiate some event. Perak MB confused between Sikhs and Bengalis

Another lesson for the new Perak Menteri Besar. He is sure to have his hands full for next 5 years as many quarters are just waiting for gaffes or mistakes like these to happen. Anyway, at least he had the courtesy to admit his mistake. Next step should be to publish the apology in the media.
