Another Hindraf leader arrested

Hindraf leader Rama ji was arrested at 12.30am 16/2/2007 and brought to Pudu Jail. His arrest was related to the Rose for PM event organised by Hindraf todday at Parliment.

Hmmm….never get the invitation? It was well documented in MK that it was send by the 5 year old girl. Slow “delivery system” 🙂

Anyway, its his prerogative to attend or not.

The Hindu Rights Action Force’s (Hindraf) international campaign for the release of its five leaders detained under the Internal Security Act (ISA) continued to gain momentum with a successful peace protest held in London on Feb 1. More than 200 people from all around the United Kingdom had gathered opposite the official residence of the British prime minister at No 10 Downing Street, holding placards showing support for Hindraf and its detained leaders. Hindraf’s chairperson P Waythamoorthy, presently in exile in London, also participated in the gathering and delivered a speech outlining Hindraf’s struggle. Well, its a well known fact that the boycott is a success. No one expected Batu Caves to be empty. There would be tourist, non-Hindus, non-Indian, foreign Indian workers etc who will still visit Batu Caves. However, the reduction of crowd is an unprecedented success.
