Another lesson for the new Perak Menteri Besar. He is sure to have his hands full for next 5 years as many quarters are just waiting for gaffes or mistakes like these to happen. Anyway, at least he had the courtesy to admit his mistake. Next step should be to publish the apology in the media.

I had a feeling that when Syed Radzi said the application will be approved based on “case by case” basis, its basically a ban. He denied that such a ban exists. The problem started after an announcement in early January stating that there is a ban since 31st December 2007. There were some confusion which even Samy Vellu did not escape. He announced the ban, in INDIA, and later retracted it. The ban was for foreign workers (excluding expatriates) in general from India and Bangladesh.  I’ve always had my doubt on PAS. I think anything based on religion will cause problem. So, this kind of statement only serves to alienate people from PAS. DAP will also suffer since people will start to question DAP.

To avoid Pakatan Rakyat from becoming another BN, PAs should not lead. It consists of Muslim-Malays, just like UMNO in BN. And we have seen how BN works. Its better for a multiracial party to lead Pakatan Rakyat.
