I had a feeling that when Syed Radzi said the application will be approved based on “case by case” basis, its basically a ban. He denied that such a ban exists. The problem started after an announcement in early January stating that there is a ban since 31st December 2007. There were some confusion which even Samy Vellu did not escape. He announced the ban, in INDIA, and later retracted it. The ban was for foreign workers (excluding expatriates) in general from India and Bangladesh. MHS highlighted that the blanket ban would affect the temple-related workers as well. » Read more: Temples in quandry over cabinet ban

The [Selangor] executive council has also today set up a three-member secretariat comprising executive councillors Teresa Kok, Dr Xavier Jeyakumar and Liu to handle issues relating to non-Muslim places of worship. According to Xavier, the secretariat has already received numerous complaints from temples representatives as well as trustees regarding problems involving land.  He said the secretariat will work with non-government organisations and religious bodies on the issue of building new temples and would bring the matter to the exco meeting for the final decision. “We will study whether there is a need for them. If they are necessary, we will give approval (to build them),” he said.

So if anything goes wrong now, we can blame the State Secretary. » Read more: Pahang to review non Muslim worship place

This temple in Shah Alam has been applying for land the last 40 years and nothing happened. I guess another one of MIC’s achievement. And the MIC bloke from Kuala Langat got the guts to ask us what they have not done for the community! I would not be surprised if the temple was demolished if Khir Toyo was still in charge after March 8.

And the Indian community, having shown the door to MIC, is still approaching Indian EXCO to solve problems instead of the EXCO in charge of the problem area. Perhaps the community is still shackled with the racial chain deeply ingrained in them by years of racial politics. OR the just feel that only another Indian can understand their problems. » Read more: 125 years old temple in danger
