Seriously now, can anyone recall Umno Youth show concern on anything remotely connected to the Indian community? This is really cheap. I only remember their deputy condemning small time Indian newspaper vendors for not working on Deepavali!
Worst is, the police became the target, along with the school (which funny enough, is under the purview of their chief!). Wait a minute, does this mean that UMNO Youth is attacking its own chief? Wow…this is bad!!!!

Umno Youth today expressed dissatisfaction with how the police are handling investigations into the death of 15-year-old student K Yashovan. Its public complaints bureau chief Subahan Kamal (left) said more could have been done by the police in relation to this case.
He was speaking to reporters after visiting Yashovan’s family at their house in Bandar Kinrara, Puchong. “We want the police to investigate the matter thoroughly and not take it lightly. Their response so far has been disappointing,” said Subahan.
Yashovan died at Hospital Kuala Lumpur without regaining consciousness last Thursday. He had suffered from serious head injuries after falling off his school building, which is located near his house.
Following this, the form three student’s family filed a police report claiming that foul play could have been involved as Yashovan had previously complained about being bullied and even assaulted.
It was also alleged that the school authorities did not react quickly to ensure that Yashovan received proper medical attention after the incident.
Subang district police chief ACP Zainal Rashid Abu Bakar later said that the case has been classified as sudden death.
The family were not satisfied and Subahan agreed, saying that classifying the case as sudden death was not good enough. The Umno Youth leader said the police should be responsible for providing the grieving family with real answers.
“The family wants to know what caused the death of their beloved son and wants those responsible to be punished. “The police should be able to guarantee the family that those responsible would be held accountable so that they can try and put this tragic episode behind them and move on with their lives,” he said.
Subahan said he and other concerned Umno Youth leaders have raised this issue with Inspector-General of Police Musa Hasan and acting federal CID director Akril Sani. “We were given the assurance by the IGP and the CID chief that the police will perform their duty with commitment and solve the matter immediately,” he added.
Besides the police, Subahan said the school should have also done more to help the family in their moment of grief. “The school should be a bridge between the deceased and his family as it was given the obligation to ensure that the child was protected from any harm when attending school. “But it is shocking to see that the school has been so insensitive to the family’s grief and acted evasively when the family asked for an explanation as to what happened to their child,” he added.
Subahan said Umno Youth will pressure the school for answers on the incident. “We will press the school for an explanation,” he added.
