Having decided not to go to MINES for the second day of Amma’s visit to Malaysia, I went again since Then wanted to give it another try. I was hoping the this time we will get an earlier slot to meet her. This time I reached MINES at 6.15pm and surprisingly found that there were much less crowd in the ground floor shoplots. There were no buses as well in the parking areas. Managed to enter the hall early. The crowd was about 1000 people only. While waiting for Amma to arrive, some video clip on Amma were screened. no ban says Education DG
April 2nd, 2008The issues of schools not allowed to invite leaders from opposition-ruled states appeared in Penang and Selangor. The Sun then reported that all 5 states were given the directive. The Education Department DG clarified that such ruling existed for long time. Only certain people were allowed to be invited – Education Minister and his deputy, Education DG, state directors and the representatives. But, how many times have we seen in TV and newspapers pictures of state EXCOs, MPs, businessmen, corporate leaders, Menteri Besars and even PM/DPM in schools? The DG also said that schools have to write to get permission if want to invite others than those mentioned in the ruling. MIBA questions meeting with EPU by YSS
April 2nd, 2008While MIBA was busy arguing about YSS’s initiative, its interesting to note that EPU have not done anything (at least that we know of) on the previous recommendations by MIC/YSS nor after PM met the NGOs early this year.
