3 Indians EXCOs remain a dream

Earlier, NST reported that there may be 3 Indian EXCO’s in Perak, with DAP “allocating” 2 seats out of 6, and PKR “allocating” 1 out of 3. There were even confident words from a DAP “insider” as well in the report.

As it went, in the end only ONE Indian was sworn in on Saturday – Sivanesan from DAP. Both Sivakumar and Sivasubramaniam were left with wishful thinking only. What happened to DAP’s 2 “allocated” seats? Did they chose the best men/women for the job?  So  it ended up as 5-1, instead of 4-2. » Read more: 3 Indians EXCOs remain a dream

HINDRAF 5 detention to be reviewed

 “will be reviewed” is the response from the new Home Minister when asked about releasing the 5 HINDRAF ISA detainees. Not sure when that will be said the minister. Actually, all it needs is just signature from PM. No need to waste time for reviews and hearings. Anyway, this is a  welcomed beginning for the community. … Also, there is the issue of the ISA (Internal Security Act) detainees. We have human rights but the record is not that great comparatively. ISA has always been used against political dissidents, (Hindraf legal adviser and newly-elected Kota Alam Shah state assemblyperson) M Manoharan especially has to be freed unless you charge him in open court. The National MIC leaders earlier had met Selangor MIC leaders in which Samy Vellu addressd them. The same old issues were raised.
