32% higher surplus? This caught my eye as well. That means one-third more than the previous year’s surplus.

The export dropped  11.3% while import dropped 6.3% if compared with previous month (January). That means we sold less things and also bought less things.  So how can difference increase by 32%? » Read more: 32 percent higher trade surplus

MIC president replied: “I will not beg anymore… enough of begging for that and this.

No respect for the self-proclaimed sole champion of the Indian community from other leaders of fellow coalition? Or the MIC candidate is not suitable?

What about Pahang?

On why the Indians were not given an exco position in the BN-controlled state of Pahang, the MIC president replied: “I will not beg anymore… enough of begging for that and this.”

“If the Pahang state government feels it is better off without an Indian in the exco, fine. We have said what we want and it is up to the state government,” he added.

To a question on why the MIC was not allocated an executive councillor’s post in Pahang, Samy Vellu said a request had been made to Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Adnan Yaakob.

“I am not prepared to beg anymore. Enough of begging for that and this.

“If the Pahang state government feels Indians do not deserve an exco’s post, let it be like that.”

Asked why the Pahang state executive council had no Indians at all, he was equally scathing.

“I asked the menteri besar (Datuk Seri Adnan Yaakob) about it two weeks ago. He didn’t reply.

I’m not prepared to beg any more. If the Pahang government feels Indians don’t deserve a state exco seat, let it be like that,” he said.

“The best thing to do is talk to the prime minister and deputy prime minister about it.”

Well, I hope it does not turn out to be another dream like 3 Indian EXCOs.  Anyway, I don’t think the speaker has power out of the assembly hall. His job is basically to control the assembly proceedings. Does he chair any committee or take other responsibilities? Being a speaker may well mean that the chosen assemblyman can’t raise any issues or protest since he will be seating as arbitrator in the hall. » Read more: Indian speaker for Perak state assembly

Sounds like great plan and beneficial for Indian community. But later there may be calls to have PMDAC or PCDAC. Having a council such as this may lead to concentration of power…and we all know what happens if there’s absolute power in hands of few people. » Read more: DAP Indians propose PIDAC
