I think using foul language is a cheap way of getting your point across. Puts you in same level as some politicians.

If you can’t figure out a better way and insist on calling it work of art or form of communication or whatever, well, sorry then, I’m not in the list of “public” that stand behind you. More likely, I’m in the list that is against you for being a negative influence for our children and youths.

Wee said he grew up with friends of various races and that was why he was angered by a few “black sheep” in the education system who did not respect Malaysia as a multiracial country with religious freedom.

“My main reason for uploading the new video was to stand up against racism,” he said, adding that he used obscene language as a form of communication and did not intend it to offend anyone.

Well, if people are offended (And I think you knew people would be), is it wrong for them to make police report? I guess not. Two wrongs doesn’t make a right here.

If allow people to use foul language so freely in the name of freedom of expression, work of art,  or pure stupidity, then something must be wrong here.

Anyway, you must be doing well as an artist, meaning you have your own brand of followers. Says here you have your own BMW.  It may earn you good buck, large following, and popularity, but to me, its a sad state of affairs.

*note that this info is available on public domain.

HM’s name: 10) Pn Hjh Siti Inshah bt Mastor  01.03.2010  – KINI

The name sounds like originate from across the selat melaka. And Hajah some more! Fasting month some more! What a pity.

Just when we think can safely and quietly enjoy this month without any problem, along comes another irritant to spoil the mood.  So, what’s next? A transfer to another school?

Is this the kind of teachers/staff that we want to be involved in politics, dear Education Minister?

UMNO SMK school headmaster’s racist remarks. Malay-sian police refuse to allow police report.

I’m a 16 year old student from SMK Tunku Abdul Rahman Putra,Kulai.  I was very offended by the speech that was given by our school principle on the “pelancaran hari kemerdekaan”she raised many discipline matters but the way she said it was a great shock 2 us. Even the teachers are offended she used certain phrases such as india balik india cina balik cina, wearing sami strings r like dog collar if u add on a bell n also various others 2. We have also organised a press conference on saturday 14 August 2010.We are trying 2 do everything possible when our parents went 2 the police station 2 launch a report the school pengetua was already there and the policemen kept asking our parents 2 talk and sort this out, they did not accept the complaint that was handed in by our parents. In this kind of case we feel un secure and offended. this can lead the students in racial fights and even more. As a student we try to be unite and follow the theme of 1 Malaysia if this is the situation there are no point of saying 1 Malaysia the principle should be a role model of the school and for the students but this is not the proper way of a speech. This doesn’t show any characteristic of a moral value. Please sir, we need all the help we can get we would be
grateful if there was something that sir can do to help us.

Thank you.
Student

School head under probe over racist remarks
By MOHD FARHAAN SHAH

KULAIJAYA: Police are investigating a school principal who allegedly used racist remarks against non-Malay students during a Merdeka celebration at the school here recently.

Kulaijaya deputy OCPD Asst Supt Mohd Kamil said police had received 12 reports against the principal since Saturday and that the case was being investigated under Section 504 of the Penal Code.

Over 50 parents and students had lodged the reports against the principal, who allegedly described the non-Malays as “penumpang” (passengers) in the country during her speech at the start of the celebration on Aug 12.

“I was shocked that my principal had used such a word against non-Malay students in our school.

“This is not the first time that she had made racist comments against Chinese and Indian students in our school,” said 17-year-old student Brevia Pan.

She added that the principal, who joined the school early this year, would only target Chinese and Indian students.

“During the Merdeka celebration, she had told non-Malay students to go study in a Chinese school or go back to China,” she told reporters in a press conference organised by Senai assemblyman Ong Kow Meng.

Another student, Ashvini Thi-nakaran, 17, said many Malay students were influenced by the principal’s remarks and made similar comments and called them names.

“Before she came to my school, all the students got along well,” she said. Her father R. Thinakaran, 47, said this was a serious matter and that principals should not behave like this.

“This principal has caused racial disharmony at the school,” he said, adding that if no action was taken, he would take his daughter out of the school.

Ong called for stern action against the principal, adding that such school heads and educators would affect the minds of students.

cow head protestors sentence

I was surprised to read that the cow head protestors pleaded guilty. Thought that these guys had “bertaubat” (repented)….until I read that the charges had been amended to illegal assembly instead of seditious act. Two of them were found guilty under Sedition Act and fined RM3000, and one of them have to serve 1 week jail sentence as well. The others paid RM1000 each as fine.

The 12 cow-head protesters, who pleaded guilty earlier Tuesday to a charge of illegal assembly, were fined RM1,000 each or a month’s jail in default by the Sessions Court here.

Two of the men were also fined RM3,000 each for a sedition charge, one of whom was sentenced to a week in jail as well.

Four others on the same sedition charge were given a discharge not amounting to an acquittal.

Judge Hasbi Hasan fined the 12 men after they pleaded guilty to committing the offence at the State Secretariat building on Aug 28 last year.

The 12 were Ahmad Mahayuddin Abd Manaf, 36, Ibrahim Sabri, 43, Eyzva Ezhar Ramly, 31, Mohd Azmir Mohd Zain, 35, Ahmad Suhairy Zakaria, 30, Mohd Hilmi Ni, 40,Jainuddin @ Zainuddin Md Yusuff, 67, Mohd Jurit Ramli, 39, Mohamad Nordin Zakaria, 46, Jamil Mohamad Isa, 40, Rahimuddin Md Harun, 39, and Azhari Shaari, 39.

Eyzva Ezhar and Mohd Azmir Mohd Zain were each also fined RM3,000 or three months’ jail on the sedition charge. Eyzva Ezhar was also sentenced to a week in jail.

Eyzva Ezhar was ordered to serve his week in jail after he completes his current jail time. He is currently serving time in a prison in Jelebu for a previous drug conviction that will end on Aug 4.

Four – Ahmad Suhairy, Mohd Hilmi, Ibrahim and Ahmad Mahayuddin Abd Manaf – were granted a discharge not amounting to an acquittal after the other two pleaded guilty to sedition charge.

The 12 were part of group – which brought a cow’s head to the gate of the State Secretariat building – protesting the relocation of a 150-year-old Sri Maha Mariamman Hindu temple from Section 19 to their neighbourhood in Section 23. They were all earlier charged under the Sedition Act 1948.

For me, it looks much lighter than a slap on the wrist. MHS says its warning for other possible protestors:

Hindu Sangam president Mohan Shanmugam described the fines imposed on the cow-head protestors today as “minimal” but still served as a warning to groups looking to stoke religious tension.

… “We welcome the justice,” he told The Malaysian Insider when contacted. “Although the charges are very minimal but it shows that everyone charged will be brought to justice. This is a warning for everybody.”

What do you think? Should the punishment be more harsh to show the seriousness of the issue?

parents of Kampar river victims yet to get compensation from state education dept

Do you remember this case? 3 girls drowned last year. You can read more articles on the Kampar Tragedy here. The court case is pending.

The parents of the three primary school pupils who drowned in the Kampar River after the bridge they were on collapsed on Oct 26 last year have finally received a total of about RM76,000 in donations collected from various schools in Perak.

The three girls who drowned in the incident were N Dina Dewa and M Davadharshini both aged 11, from SJK (T) Mambang Diawan in Batu Gajah and V Diviyasari, 12, from SJK (T) Gopeng.

They were among 22 pupils crossing the suspension bridge (left), from the SK Kuala Dipang primary school back to a ‘1Malaysia’ camping site across the river when the bridge gave away at 10.30pm.

Today, lorry driver T Nathan, father of Dina, and K Mageswaran, father of Davadharshini, displayed the cheques they received at the PKR office in Gopeng. K Vasuthavan, father of Diviyasari, could not be present as he was working in Singapore.

The two parents said they received their cheques from the headmaster of the SJK (T) Mambang Diawan Tamil school last Friday.

Both Nathan and Mageswaran received RM25,312.55 each. The parents said they were aware that donations were being collected from various schools, but were unsure when the state education department would hand the collected amount over to them.

Several observers have pointed out that the donations may have been held back from the parents out of spite, in light of the settlement of a lawsuit that the parents had filed against the department.

The handing over of the donations to the bereaved families and the release of the federal government’s findings into the bridge collapse tragedy were highlighted to Deputy Education Minister Wee Ka Siong when a Pakatan ad hoc committee, headed by ousted Perak speaker V Sivakumar (right), visited Parliament on July 12.

The visit apparently proved fruitful as the donations collected were then ordered to be released by the authorities, though there has been no word yet on the release of the government’s findings into the tragedy.

Pakatan had disclosed on Nov 16 last year their findings of the tragedy and have urged the government to officially announce their results as well.

The parents of the deceased children have filed a RM105 million civil suit against SJK (T) Mambang Diawan and SJK (T) Gopeng where two of the children studied, the Kinta Selatan district education office, the Perak Education Department, the Education Ministry, the commandant of the 1Malaysia camp, the sponsor of the bridge’s construction, the contractor and the Malaysian government.

They also want the Ipoh High Court to compel the government to reveal their findings of the bridge collapse tragedy.

The families’ suit is coming up for mention at the Ipoh High Court on July 28.

My God! What is happening to our school teachers? A fresh graduate primary school teacher earns at least RM2500 per month if stay in urban area like Shah Alam. So, does it mean the income is not enough until want to sell drugs?

Two primary school teachers were among four people who were arrested for distributing codeine here.

Shah Alam district police headquarters also seized eight bottles containing 14.8 litres of cough mixture and 2,200 pills of various types from the four during a raid on a house in Section 5 yesterday.

He said police were investigating if the four were part of a major syndicate involved in other criminal activities.
