After being criticized by the party members, Prof Ramasamy replies. I mentioned that the grassroot members may not be interested in the high level agreements and strategies. Now it seems that this voice of discontent is just a minority. Whatever it is, i think it points to problems that may duplicate BN later. Those who enter politics (and political parties) most likely have personal ambition. It will easy to get a group of people roused up and protest. Thus, Prof Ramasamy and his team should ensure all decisions and issues are clearly explained to members at all levels. I think he needs more people to help him out. If not, his position can be jeopardised. » Read more: Prof Ramasamy replies to critics

Tronoh ADUN Sivakumar as Assembly Speaker?
April 21st, 2008So, looks like Sivakumar may get the assembly speaker position, but there’s a small matter of contest since the opposition BN also proposing another candidate. Earlier, it was the other Siva – Sivasubramaniam who created a ruckus by quiting DAP when only one Indian was selected for EXCO position. Sivanesan skips PTA meeting due to Ministry circular
April 15th, 2008From what I understand, the circular says only selected people can be called to officiate or launch the events. The state leaders can still visit as part of their jobs or as normal VIP. What Sivanesan is saying sounds like partially true only. If any school has health problem – like food poisoning, he would be expected to go there to investigate and get reports, not to officiate some event. Same goes to Ngeh. » Read more: Sivanesan skips PTA meeting due to Ministry circular
PAS wants to lead Pakatan Rakyat and aim for islamic state
April 6th, 2008I’ve always had my doubt on PAS. I think anything based on religion will cause problem. So, this kind of statement only serves to alienate people from PAS. DAP will also suffer since people will start to question DAP.
To avoid Pakatan Rakyat from becoming another BN, PAs should not lead. It consists of Muslim-Malays, just like UMNO in BN. And we have seen how BN works. Its better for a multiracial party to lead Pakatan Rakyat.
I think DAP and PKR should merge, and let PAS to contest by itself in next election. » Read more: PAS wants to lead Pakatan Rakyat and aim for islamic state
Indian speaker for Perak state assembly
April 4th, 2008Well, I hope it does not turn out to be another dream like 3 Indian EXCOs. Anyway, I don’t think the speaker has power out of the assembly hall. His job is basically to control the assembly proceedings. Does he chair any committee or take other responsibilities? Being a speaker may well mean that the chosen assemblyman can’t raise any issues or protest since he will be seating as arbitrator in the hall. » Read more: Indian speaker for Perak state assembly
