Penang Hindu Endowments Board should be apolitical

The previous state government dished out the positions to politicians. The current government should not repeat the same mistake. They must set up a committee to short list and select suitable candidates to be in the board. There should be competent people well versed in religion and community issues. Politicians who lead will be seen as making skewed decisions or under influence of their political parties. I don’t think the assemblymen should be in the board.

Manoharan willing to be EXCO but not shortlisted

While the new Selangor MB thinks that its not so urgent to get Manoharan sworn-in, the Bar Council thinks otherwise. For them, not having the ceremony will be depriving Manoharan of his privileges, access to documents, allowances, etc. Perhaps the new MB needs some capable legal advisors so that he can get the correct facts and then provide proper replies. The Bar Council also pointed out that the two ISA detainees who won in 1978 were sworn in at the Kamunting center itself. Looks like Prof Ramasamy who is DCM 2 will be in charge of economic planning, education and human resources, science, technology and innovation. Not to say dummy DCM, but average position.
