Not sure if the girl has been offered alternative courses or not. Anyway, PSD (JPA) had only given 12% –  25% of scholarships to normal Malaysians a.k.a second class citizens from 2004-2007. The rest went to the privileged Malaysians.

It is the time of the year where parents and students have to approach political parties in order to convince and get more places from PSD. » Read more: SPM 10A1 Kamine Devi rejected by PSD

Interestingly, TAR and UTAR (MCA-affiliated) have more than 90% chinese students. How about AIMST and TAFE?

Its a good start to highlight what MIC can offer, but I hope its more than announcing there are colleges and universities. Affordable fees and effort to provide loans and scholarships are important as well. Of course quality of education goes without saying. » Read more: Devendran urges youths to make use of MIC

Gerakan forms committee to solve Tamil schools problems

Really 400 schools closed down since 1979? Wow! Anyway, good luck to Gerakan. They will be going against UMNO if want to fight for Tamil schools. These guys no need to create another committee, just work with exiting ones like HINDRAF, Tamil Foundation, EWRF, Tamil HM Association, MIC (heaven forbid!), the school PTAs etc.

I’m not sure how serious is Gerakan since they are not Indian-friendly party. No “suitable” candidates it seems for recent elections. So, how to have faith in people like Dr Krishnan?

Solution is simple for layman like me. Change the law. How difficult is that? Difficult since one good-for-nothing political party opposes it. All it needs is to get the legal team to draft changes, and vote in parliament. Which right minded parliamentarian won’t vote for converting partially-aided schools to fully-aided ones – (by buying the land or allowing for funds for such schools on par with other schools)? I bet there will be a bunch of them who are against it. They won’t let fellow coalition MPs to support such motion as well, if it was from the opposition.

This Gerakan effort will fail. If successful, MIC can close shop. » Read more: Gerakan forms committee to solve Tamil schools problems

obviously, one will want the best for their children, especially in education. Residential schools do produce generally better examination results, but some say it is due to dubious methods. However, for the moment, one can only enter MRSM which allocates 10% of the seats for the normal Malaysians, remaining 90% is for the obvious group. » Read more: residential schools still limited to other malaysians
