KUALA LUMPUR,MON:

THE Internal Security Ministry will not be releasing the five Hindraf leaders detained under the Internal Security Act despite MIC President Datuk Seri S.Samy Vellu’s request that they be freed.
Internal Security Minister Datuk Seri Syed Hamid Albar said Samy Vellu is entitled to voice MIC’s concerns, adding that the action taken against the five was based on the legal system. He told reporters this after visiting the Police Headquarters at Bukit Aman today.

Yesterday Samy Vellu said he would meet Syed Hamid Albar and Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdulah Ahmad Badawi to request that the Hindraf leaders be released.
