Syed Hamid said the decision to allow the newspaper to continue publishing was based on looking after the interests of the paper’s employees.

“They are supporting so many people and… they assure that they will abide by the guidelines and they will contribute to our nation building efforts,” Syed Hamid said.  “I think their request is reasonable and I renewed it (the permit) yesterday,” he told reporters

Hahahahahahahahahaha……What a joke! 102 people’s job can make things change so fast? What about national unity, racial harmony and all those magic words always bandied about? 25 million people has less value than 102 families?

Well, what an about turn! Let me guess, the Ministry statement will say that “the publisher has agreed to follow guidelines more closely. Further non-compliance will cause the permit to be not renewed.” Hmm…looks like no conditions imposed. » Read more: Makkal Osai permit finally renewed

Or was the ban not brought up at all? » Read more: No one supports Makkal Osai ban

I nearly fell off my bed when I heard the “clarification” given over TV3 purportedly by the Home Minister. Come on la, you think we are stupid people is it? The permit is not “renewed” means what? Can the paper continue publishing? No right? What can a newspaper company do if it doesn’t have permit to publish? » Read more: Not banned, just not renewed!

Why do I feel like being insulted? Can’t I have freedom to read and decide for myself what to believe? Are people like me soooo stupid? This is the repeated mistake being made by those in charge. No wonder people trust the Internet and SMS from their friends more than newspapers, since everything is controlled.

Subra now has a big problem. His political mouthpiece is gone. Now have to go and beg from Syed Hamid. Maybe Samy may want to help out his buddy-again Subra? » Read more: Makkal Osai Banned!
