Or do i need to change my course..? i would like to know where can i pursue my degree in pharmacy…pls help me sir..i don knw wat to do now sir…i feel so stucked in middle…

    • poobalan says:

      hi durga,

it seems the rule is by Malaysian Pharmacy Board so you can don’t anything, unless the rules says it doesn’t affect current students. your best hope is to work for a few years using diploma and later pursue degree based on diploma+working experience as assistant pharmacist.

you can try inquire at Malaysian Pharmacy Board at :

or else, you can try overseas degree, but ensure the uni is recognised by the Board.

or you can change to other degree program.

  2. kalai says:

    dear sir,
Im Kalaivani Nadeson,21 Im a first year medical student in Universitas Padjajdjaran. Is there any loans or scholarship that i can apply? Im quite blur and i dont know where to refer. so hope you may help me. Thank you

    • poobalan says:

      hi kalaivani,

if you are already in medic program, especially overseas, there’s very few scholarships you can apply for. you can try JPA loan which will be open later. also, the common loans are MIED, MCEF, but its not much.

  3. farah says:

l am waiting for my SPM result. AM interested to pursue study in engineering. l could not open the Malaysian Airport Education program. the link seems to be broken. Is it not open yet?

  4. farah says:

    Hi Mr Poobalan,

The one listed in yr page above i.e:MALAYSIA AIRPORT EDUCATION SPONSORSHIP PROGRAM. The page doesnt seems to be there, is it not yet open?

  5. rathika says:

    Dear sir,

I am a second year student of BSc (Hons) Food Science & Nutrition in UCSI University. I am receiving a ptptn loan, but it is not sufficient enough to pay up my tuition fee. Can you please guide my if there is any chance of applying another source for my education? Thank you

  6. miss leka says:

    hello mr poobalan sir..
i f alwiz come across ur email in my miclub inbox.. n i feel very honoured n blessed 2 b able to msg u here..
im currently doing my masters in um.. m.ed (tesl), first semester..
i was wondering is there any scholarships i cn take up, since my dad is kind of havg sum trble to pay fr the remaining 2 semesters?
    my cgpa is 3.45
pls rep asap sir.. tq! 🙂

    • poobalan says:

      hi miss leka,

honoured and blessed sounds so big, i’m not deserving of such words 🙂 anyways, thanks for dropping by my blog.

are you studying full time? if yes, check out the MOHE website for the scholarship for master students.

for education, not many scholarships around. more so for postgrad, unless your employer agree to sponsor (if you are working).

my advice: get a job. doing TESL means you should be having some related degree in it, so try for tutor jobs or tuition for english etc. you can make more than enough to cover your education.

  7. gobinath vijian says:

    hi poobalan sir,

The Akademi Laut Malaysia (ALAM) had called me for a interview on marine engineering(diploma).I’m so lucky and happy to hear this but there are some questions that puzzled me.First questions is are Malaysian Marine Engineering Education recognised by overseas country especially Singapore?
Second questions is are there a scolarship for me to finish the coarse?
So far that only.My interview on 26January20011 sir.
    Please help me sir.
    Thank you.

    • poobalan says:

      hi gobinath,

      1. for diploma/degree programs you check with MQA. usually foreign universities will rely on the govt’s accreditation. secondly, for engineering degree, we refer to malaysian engineering board. but i’m not sure about diploma level programs. i don’t think it will be a problem for you to work in singapore, if that’s what you are thinking of.

      2. scholarship wise, ALAM itself will link you with the companies related to marine industry.

    • R Muhunthan says:

@gobinath vijian, hello gobinath…your course at ALAm is recognised of the student at ALAM..nearly 90% of them is sponsored…the early entry is from diploma..then gain your sailing experiene..before you continue to your degre..bright future is there waiting for you..good luck man…

  8. diana george says:

hello sir. i just finished my spm and currently waiting for the results. i am looking forward for any scholarships offered on medical courses and for foundation. could you suggest best link or website for me to view on this purpose. thank you.

  9. poobalan says:

    hi diana,

unfortunately, there’s no such “best website” because its not an ideal world 🙂 you have to google high and low to get information because the sources are different, and we don’t have any “department of scholarships and loans”. so, you can start by reading newspaper daily and also check the links on page 2 of the scholarships page. alternatively, if you are having good results (obviously you should since you are targetting for scholarship), then you can approach the colleges/uni to negotiate for scholarships.

also, if you are from low-income family, you can apply for Honda Dreams Fund which provides full scholarship for any course.

  10. helen says:

hi sir i am doing my B.Sc biotechnology 2+2 twining program in USA California. I am loking forward for a scholarship that will suport my 2nd year in Malaysia and 3rd and 4th year in US or a Scholarship that will suport my studies in US only. I am curently doing my 3rd sem in Malaysia and my GPA is 3.7 and CGPA is 3.53.Please help me sir.

    • poobalan says:

      hi helen,

you should with your college. since your results are good, then they should be able to help you out to apply for scholarships. also, the uni you plan to go to in US would have some financial aid as well. other than that, you can check the info listed in this page for current scholarships. but remember, there are students with much more better results, so it won’t be easy.

  11. Far says:

Can i ask you about the maybank scholarship…is it true the criteria of having 2 more years to complete my studies?

  12. Nanthini says:

Hi there sir!I just finished my SPM and obviously waiting for my resutlt.I have a confusion here whereby I wanted to know whether entering matrics first would be a better choice or straight away go to university? Can u tell me sir the pros and cons??
    Thks for the reply sir!

  13. poobalan says:

    hi nanthini,

by matrics, you mean government matriculation? if yes, the application has closed, so too late for that. if you mean foundation/pre-u programs at local uni (IPTA), as SPM leaver you can apply for them via UPU. Only at selected uni as some of the programs exclusive for bumiputra and malays. another option is to study diploma at IPTA.

OR, if you are referring to form 6, then of course its the cheapest option and can provide chance to enter IPTA to do degree program.

if you are looking at private colleges, also the same thing: you either take pre-u/foundation or take diploma. there’s no way of entering a college/uni to a direct degree program.

so, if you can clarify what you are actually referring to, will be easier.

  14. Uvarani says:

hye sir. I am Uva.currently i am doing my medicine in Indonesia.i would like to apply MALAYSIA AIRPORT EDUCATION SPONSORSHIP PROGRAM. but unfortunately the page can’t b do i suppose to apply for it.? Do they sponsoring for medical students in abroad also?Thank You Sir.

  15. poobalan says:

    hi uvarani,

the scholarship is not open at the moment. have to wait for their announcement.

  16. krisina says:

Hi Sir, I am krisina here and currently im studying 4th year M.D in RSMU (russian medical universiti, moscow). I’m very interested in getting scholarship to continue my studies . but i dont know which scholarship i must apply for. plzsir, do advice me. tq.

    • poobalan says:

      hi krisina,

i’m not sure if there’s any scholarship you can apply for at all, in malaysia. better if you try for global scholarships. or apply JPA loan.

  17. tirosheni says:

    hi,poobalan sir…
Currently im working as a staff nurse in one of private hospital.I would like to continue my degree in psychology @ HELP UNI.Im searching for scholarship that can help me to study,i have cgpa 3.68 in my diploma in nursing.Sir can you help me with it…thank you..

    • poobalan says:

      hi tirosheni,

are you planning to study full time? you can check the Star Education Fund if the cover psychology. You should ask Help as well, on whose their usual sponsors. if you have contact with your HR dept, you can check if they provide scholarship (most likely bonded).

there’s few like Honda Dream Funds, but its limited by age, you can try if still applicable.

  18. sharmi says:

    hi poobalan sir..

i jz fnsh my dip in medical lab tech…nw im waitng 2 do my deg in related crse..te prob is i hv apply 4 gov u..te reslt ny wil be out on sept…n tat tm most of te schlrship date deadline hw am i goin 2 apply 4 te schlrship sir..realy nid ur help n advice..tq

    • poobalan says:

are you sure the result will be out in sept for govt u? when did you apply?

if sept, yes most of scholarships will be closed. you have to wait for 2nd semester to apply. anyway, if govt u, the fees will be very low.

  19. Ain says:

Hi Sir. I am Ain and currently studying at USM for Educational Studies. I am not applicable for the KPM scholar. Is there any Scholar that i could apply for?
    tq sir..

    • poobalan says:

      hi Ain,

you can check out Honda Dreams Funds. Scholarship for education is quite rare actually. usually, you have to search for scholarships that cover any courses, instead of looking for education-specific scholarships.

  20. syazwan naseh says:

For the Singapore Scholarship, is an SPM leaver eligible for it as it says foundation will be provided? I’m confused now.

  21. Rachel says:

hi,sir..i’m now studying A-level..n i had completed my spm on 2010..i’m planning to study architecture after completing my can i noe which scholarships should i apply in order to study architecture???

    • poobalan says:

      hi rachel,

you can search the directory at to find the relevant scholarships (but remember, not all of them may be open for application at the moment).
