Elangesvaran buried as muslim by body snatchers

The sad news was revealed late yesterday, when the High Court dismissed application by the family to stop the religious authorities from snatching the deceased and burying him. Details are in the hard copy of today’s Star, page N28. Elangesvaran was buried in the Parit Buntar Muslim cemetery last night. What a disgraceful act by these criminals. Just like when they appealed at syariah court instead of facing the family in civil court. Another definition for cowardice.

All this because there’s some proof scribbled on paper that the deceased had converted. These religious hooligans (extremists or terrorist is also suitable here) did not provide proof to the family about the conversion (at least in public). What’s so difficult about that? Where’s the compassion these guys always trumpet about?

Where in the world in MIC, IPF, DAP, PKR, Gerakan, Hindraf, MHS? Our great Indian leader and saviour of the Indian community…where is he hiding?

The family is planning to put up another appeal, which if they win will result in the body being exhumed and buried (cremated) according Hindu rites.

Let this be another warning (yes, we have plenty of such sad cases every few months) to our community. Think carefully before doing anything rash. Talk to family members, friends, or spiritual organizations so that you don’t make the wrong decision. More importantly, make sure that your religious status is correct in your MyKad, Registration Department system and other relevant documents.

If there’s no proof of conversion is forthcoming, I hope those body snatchers rot in hell.

Elangesvaran’s case is still unsolved as reported by Malaysiakini. The religious authorities did something cowardly – they sneaked off to the Syariah court and obtained an order that the deceased was a convert. The deceased’s family are not represented in the religious court Even though precedence exists where non-Muslim families fought their cases in islamic court, its very rare due to the constitutional rights of individuals. Knowing that the deceased’s family won’t be approaching the islamic court or may have not even thought of such idea, these people did this embarassing and despicable act. Such actions only serve to undermine their religion in the eyes of other Malaysians.

On the family’s part, they declared to fight on for the rights to claim the body of the deceased. Says the deceased’s brother, Selvam:

We will fight this all the way as my brother never told us anything about his conversion,” he said. “We have yet to get over his death and now we have to endure this… It is all just too much for my family

Given the success rate of such cases, we can only pray that the family gets justice.

Meanwhile, their lawyer – Karpal Singh is planning to file a contempt of court over the “underhanded” action of the religious authorities (i think the term hooligans is more appropriate) of running off to syariah court while the high court is hearing the case.

This is wrong and we are thinking of filing a contempt of court application against them

Those authorities should have just shown the proof in the the current court and get it over with. Don’t tell me they think the judge will be biased or such cases should not be heard in civil courts. Instead of taking a simple and clear path, they decided to make things more complicated. Can’t blame them since they just make use of the loopholes in the laws to their advantage.

We have leaders trumpeting about justice, Rukunegara, brotherhood, harmony, solidarity, love, freedom and so many other “nice to hear” words, but in reality? The fault is solely on those lawmakers for failing to set right the flaws in the changes made in the constitution. Rather than admitting their mistakes, they hide behind ambigious responses and brush aside any attempts to voice out the dissatisfaction faced by the communities. They have failed to provide remedies. For how long will cases like this continue to take up space in newspapers before something is done? One can only curse that they rot in their hell beyond eternity.

Samy hounded by MAIKA investors

MAIKA will be an albatross around the neck of MIC for as long as the investors are not refunded and those responsible are bought to justice. Samy can expect more such receptions as long as MAIKA issue can be used to raise the emotions of the community. Just mention MAIKA, and you most likely will see the amount of anger, contempt and hurt that people seem to register. Whether the person was actually a victim had become irrelevant. It (MAIKA) has spread like a virus, affecting the community in general.

If we remember correctly, Samy Vellu announced that the investors will be refunded with some amount, but its going to be a year now. Habuk pun tarak. When people want to ask, these guys ran away (that’s what I understand from “drove away”).

Well, if anyone have more information on the incident, please share. Meanwhile, read the article that appeared in the Star:

JOHOR BARU: A commotion broke out in a temple compound here when a group of people claiming to be Maika Holdings investors could not meet MIC president Datuk Seri S. Samy Vellu yesterday. The group of about 50 had waited for more than three hours and became agitated when Samy Vellu refused to discuss their grievances over the losses they claimed to have suffered.

The protesters had initially gathered at around 9am outside the SJK (T) Ladang Ulu Tiram in Ulu Tiram near here. However, they rushed to the Arulmigu Thiru Murugan temple about 2km away when they found out that Samy Vellu was there.

At the temple, tempers flared between the protesters and MIC vice-president Datuk S. Sothinathan when they accused one another of speaking disrespectfully. The protesters calmed down and agreed to move out of the temple compound when they were told that the matter would be discussed outside.

The MIC leaders, however, later drove off.

Spokesman for the protesters, businessman K. Selvakumaran, 48, said they were upset because Samy Vellu had not responded to their questions about Maika Holdings.

Seri Alam OCPD Supt Roslan Zainuddin said that the situation was under control and the protesters had dispersed peacefully.

MPAJ councillor under scrutiny

Out of the two (Star) or three (NST) MPAJ councillor nominees alleged to have criminal records or under investigation, one is said to have a criminal record.EXCO Ronnie Liu says that the list was sent to ACA, police and Bank Negara, but no response from them. So, he said that “cannot wait for six months”. So, looks like its not that the new government didn’t send, but the respondents never replied. This makes me think, how can the previous state government elect their councillors so fast? Is it because of good relationship with the ACA/police/Bank Negara (this implies that new state government is not given due cooperation by these organizations) or the previous government never really vetted their councillors. Which is which?

 

Two councillors will be asked to make statutory declarations (what’s with these declaration thing nowadays?) so that they can be jailed if they are found to have made a false statement. Also, the appointment for councillor position is one year, after which it will be reviewed.

 

Meanwhile, according to checks with police, only one of the three (a 50-year old PKR member) had a police conviction (for ROBBERY!). Two others – Supriamany Sinnayapal, 59, and Sooria Narayanan, 38, were clean.

 

Supriamany, a retired Tenaga Nasional Bhd technician, said:

“I am a victim of political assassination. I have no criminal records. I have never dealt in drugs, stolen or committed murder. Why am I being implicated in this?” he said, adding that he was considering legal action.


Sooria Narayanan, of the Ampang Indian Community Charity Bureau, also expressed shock at the allegation, adding that it had tarnished

his reputation. He also said he did not lobby to become a councillor but was offered the post.The Star reported that one of the two nominees to the Ampang Jaya Municipal Council (MPAJ) accused of having been involved in criminal activities has served two years in restricted residence in Gua Musang. It is learnt the nominee was sent as a restricted resident to the remote Kelantan town from 2003-2005 for suspected vice activities.

From robbery to vice. Still unclear on the whole situation.

Bala changes tune over statutory declaration

Statutory declaration is plaything is it? Can make and retract as you like? Waste people’s time and money only. Don’t know how many people wasted money buying newspaper today.

Just like Lingam, Bala also causes more misery and bad name for the Indian community. How people want to have faith in you if keep on changing tune as you like?

Yesterday he was all smiles, today the Malaysiakini photo shows a glum face.

It takes guts to go through this. Unfortunately, not many of us are able to face it when the going gets tough. Bribed, threatened, cajoled, misled?

From his changed declaration, we can see that those that specifically mention Najib Tun Razak have been altered or deleted. Also, do note that the things mentioned are those have been in public knowledge all this while. We have seen emailed photos of the deceased with certain people. We have read emails on the RM500k money. We heard rumors of marriage. Only the Singapore diamond exhibitions sounds new (to me at least).

This can only mean two things – its a lie from the beginning and he was coached/forced to make those declarations, or its true and he was forced to remove those damaging statements. There’s a third possibility – the two declarations were preplanned so as to insinuate that Bala was forced to change his declaration. In other words, purposely make a false declaration, then pretend to be threatened and change it.

Najib obviously denies all the allegations made earlier. All lies he says. Badawi says no comments.

Whatever it is, only one will survive this round of battle – Najib or Anwar. We can expect more lies and half-truths from both parties as they play a dangerous game of chess.
