…the intake of Sikh students (who came under the Indian quota) into public universities and recruitment of Sikhs into the police force had increased.

KUALA LUMPUR: More Indian students will stand a chance to get a tertiary education with an increase in the number of Public Service Department scholarships. The MIC education bureau head, Datuk T. Marimuthu, told a seminar for SPM and STPM students that the number of scholarships had increased from 1,800 to 2,000 this year.
