Not bad, an increase of  393% !!! From 12k to 47k application. Of course, the statistics won’t be complete without comparison of application from the privileged community. Also, breakdown of jobs applied, gender, qualification, age etc. Then, most importantly, the number of application successful by race, job, gender, age etc.

Well, some tell me inflation in Malaysia is actually between 7 and 8%, not sure how those figures were obtained.  But how many of us actually believe that inflation in malaysia is below 3%? Petrol price increased 50 sen in last three years, but still under control. But prices of many foodstuff (raw and processed) has increased tremendously. We are getting less for the same amount of money we spend. the mee goreng portion looks smaller, the teh tarik looks lighter.

But i understand that cost of things in Singapore is also increasing steadily. they are affected by the global prices increases as well.

It was interesting to read the reports on March trade surplus. The Star projected a positive vibe, stating the surplus was higher if compared to corresponding month in 2007. However, MK put a negative note on the numbers, stating that the trade surplus is on the decline if compared to January and February 2008 values, and that imports grew 14.8% if compared to February. It did mention that exports grew 9.5% compared to February 2008, so that’s a bit of good news. » Read more: numbers talk

RM923 million for 523 schools for period between 2006 and 2007 is about RM882,000 per year. The report did not mention if the amount includes salaries, KWAMP, tuition vouchers, text book subsidies, etc. The point is not about  money being spent, but the amount and level of spending as partially aided school receive limited funds. Fund allocation also depends on  number  of students in the school. Since roughly one third of tamil schools are fully-aided, the  balance will receive even less than the average  (RM882k). » Read more: billions for chinese and tamil schools

Study show BN lost media war

The study did not indicate how the respondents were chosen, data collection method, and number of respondent for each age group. But if the study is to be accepted, then it means nearly 2/3 of those aged between 21 and 40 would have anti-BN views. Added with the probability that this group would have high mobility (thus able to convey things they saw/read to more people) as compared to those in their 50s or 60s, the BN did a terrible mistake by overlooking the Internet.
